Can I run those on stock retainers, or do I need to upgrade?:th_scratchhead:Thanks a lot. Will do. I almost went for the comp 105# springs. Is there performance gaims with stronger springs, or are these guys just trying to sell springs? I don't mind paying the little extra if it's worth it in either performance or reliability. Heck, if it's gonna be the same with stock springs and all, I'd obviously wrather go that route. :th_thumbsup-wink:. P.S. you guys on this forum are the SH>>>>>>T
Yeah. Different people have different situations. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to attempt to do it myself. Its my DD and I also take my wife wherever she needs to go:th_sick1:. However I do have the money! I'm not having zzp do it. They have pissed me off and on top of that, cam install prices just went up $100. I've got an appointment for the first weekend in February at big worms shop:th_thumbsup-wink: (Much better deal). Maybe I'll come watch and/or get some hands on.how about DONT have zzp put it in for you and learn something about your car along the way.
I just drove my buddy's gtp today (he has a vs cam installed with a 3.5 inch pulley stock manni's and a 3 inch downpipe.) It's the fastest grand prix I've been in "seeing that I havn't been in any besides my own". Honestly, his car against mine feels like a GT vs a GTP (or a gtp with another supercharger so to speak). BIG DIFFERENCE. and it sounds pretty damn good thru the stock cat back. All the videos I've seen the vs cam don't do it justice. I conclude that even with his minimal mods, THIS IS NOT A PUNK A$$ CAM!:th_king-evil: I know it's small, but it packs A LOT more of a punch than I thought it would. I can't wait to install mine now. I should be quite a bit quicker than him because I am doing headers and an even smaller pulley. This cam has a crapload of topend, (but that is in comparison to a nearly stock gtp). I'm sure most of the other cams have more up top, but I was more than sure that this will satisfy my modding needs. I will get speedo vids if I can find a straight open road that isn't so snowy.:th_thumbsup-wink: My install is set for the first weekend in February. Hopefully I can pull that low 13 everyone is betting on. WE SHALL SEElet me know how u like it. i am going to get a vs cam next month. i wanted the lower duation at .050 to keep the power band for dd usage. xp's sound good, but i'm not gonna turn it up that much. i think vs for mostly cruising.
Sexy driver automatically made it run 17's
The s1x is arguably the best stage 1 cam out here. The NIC makes more power upon the install (after a good tune), but it dosn't have a lot of potential after that. Plus zzp promises 12's with just the NIC cam, a pulley and a tune....:th_liar:, but most can't seem to get out of 13's with those mods. The s1x generaly puts down better track numbers than the xp! Thats a bad @ss cam. Only reason I chose the VS is because of money. There's less valvetrain work involvedhey if i find the s1x cam u mentioned, that'll be a choice too. not much diff between [email protected] and [email protected]...
