Just curious to what you guys think about the ZZP front PLOG on a 2005 GTP. Anyone done so? and if so, what kind of gains have you got. Just wondering if its worth purchasing if im not planning on getting headers. Just got a 2.5" downpipe w/ cat. Thats all im doing exhasut wise, sticking w/ stock pipes. Just tell me what you guys think. Also if anyone has used front PLOG for a 2005 gtp hit me up cause ill purchase them off you if ur willing to part. Thanks

it has been a proven mod time after time! I would slap one on there in a heartbeat!

more mpg, and better exhaust flow.

As many P-log owners will say, don't waste your money unless you're planning to go turbo.

IMO, its not much more to go headers at this point so a P-Log is a big waste of money. To do it right you need a p-log, and at least some port work on the rear mani. You also need a 3" DP of your choice to see a gain at all anyway. Buy the time you figure everthing up, You can have a REAL Nice set of headers with a bolt on DP and everything you need to get on the road and have it done the right way.

The choice is yours but for an S/C application a P-log and or a PEM is pissing money away honestly. Do it right the first time, get headers and thank me later.

Yeah thanks everyone for the quick responses. Appreciate it and im gona have to think about it. Tried jacking the car up to swap the stock downpipe/cat w/ my new zzp downpipe w/ cat and it was impossible for me. Just gona try n get it done by a muffler shop. Idk how much that will cost but w.e. Anyways, thanks.

this is my biggest pet peeve..if someone is asking about the performance of plog then answer their question..maybe he cant afford headers. maybe he wants just a d/p plog combo?? not everyone hasthe money to go bigger and better. to answer your question, as stated it is a great cheap mod and i dynoed 11 whp after install. but used for best bang for your buck

The only headers i would get are the ZZP headers, so you are looking at considerably more money than a PLOG. I am going to get one soon since I plan on staying at a 3.4 and maybe going to a 3.3 if I ever get rockers. I would have gotten the 3 inch downpipe, but that is me.

yeah i went the plog route but went headers later, if you want more power go headers, or find a plog thats used to save some moeny. im n/a so a car that is sc will see more gains then what i did.

i still have my plog just sitting in my work shop if your interested, ill have to take a look at make sure nothing is wrong with it. pm me if interested

Just giving my honest opinion.

As for not affording headers... Ok lets price a bolt in DP and a Powerlog, and price a cheap set of ebay headers. There ain't much of a price difference plus you get way better flowing primarys and you upgrade the entire exiting setup w/ a good downpipe too. Theres really no comparasion. The choice is very easy in my eyes. Even for someone budget minded.

Sorry for giving my honest opinon, but a Powerlog/DP setup will get owned by the cheapest headers hands down. Dollar for Dollar, the Powerlog/DP is a half assed route compared to the cheapest headers out there. Thats my opinion though. Just telling the guy the truth. He can make his decision from here, he's a big boy.

I wish I had the options we have now and someone telling me useful info like this when I started this game over 7 years ago...

no i agree 100 percent headers are def. a better route, but he already has the d/p and wanted info on a plog. he didnt ask which headers were better. some ppl would rather have a quality plog/d/p setup from a reputable co. rather then pacesetter or cheap ass ebay headers that he would more then likely need to weld up every other week. i ditched my pace****ters for a plog/dp setup for that reason. but yes headers > plog/d/p ( a decent set anyway)

he aint going to be runnin a 3.4 with down pipe and powerlog on a gen v with out knock. maybe a 3.5 with good tune.

pacesetter may have a ****ty y pipe seal but with some clamps the problem is solved. and with droping that much of a pulley headers are highly recemended.

I went the plog/DP route. When I bought the downpipe there wasnt much talk about S&S headers and I was hesitant about pacesetters because of the sealing issues and I was only planning on a 3.5 or 3.6 pulley (althought i knew it was probably going to be a 3.6).

If I was doing it today I would get the SS headers and try to find someone to install it for cheap. I got the DP installed for $35 and the plog done for $75. A whole header setup probably would have run me at least $300.

I just got the plog installed last week and the power increase was crazy. My car liked the plog more than any other one of my mods.

I went with plog and 2.5 dp and love it. Took 10 mins to put on and increased a ton imo. Now I may do headers one day but for now I love what I bought

for a GenV:

If I had headers I would go with a 3.5 and overkill tune.

Or

plog/dp and 3.6 on overkill tune. if i ever drop to a 3.5 on plog/dp i would make sure i had rockers.

-just my opinion, not saying its right.

yea i wasent going to touch a 3.4 till i had rockers.

but i got an xp on the way so i dont have to worry about any of that anymore :D

the only time i think you would knock tho is in the winter time, with a generic tune (not tunning yourself) in the sumertime im sure you would be okay.

modular pullies ftw??? :D

^good point. i could switch in the summer/winter. can you use the same belt for a 3.6 to a 3.5 or would i have to switch belts too?
