ZZP Downpipe

Been reading on this site and seen a lot of recommendations for a zzp downpipe and magnaflow hi flow cat. Since my prix needs a cat any way i wanted to replace it with some better parts and to make it sound better. Just wondering which downmpipe is a dirrect bolt in and works in these cars

Yeah the zzp downpipe with high flow cat is a direct bolt in. It will give u a good jump in performance and it will make it sound deeper too

Meh, just skip the cat. Get a 3" Catless Downpipe and listen to the newly found exhaust note and jump in power from getting rid of that factory DP/Clogged Cat/U-Bend ;)

But if the cat is skipped what about the O2 sensor that follows it? And is it worth deleting the cat? If i need a dummy 02 sensor where is a good place to get one? and will gas millage get worse?

Nope...o2 Simulator. Get one from ZZPerformance. Or if you know anyone with a Tuner around you they can permanently delete the cat code...and if anything you'll get BETTER MPG's without a cat...and you said you wanted it to sound better...it will...just keep the resonator as that is what controls the sound.

Alright thanks for the information, is it better to keep the stock resonator or put a glass pack in for it and if i decide to change the mufflers in the future what would be a good choice?

The resonator controls what frequencies are heard in the cabin. The mufflers tune the exterior sound.

Not totally true. The resonator is what took care of most if not ALL of the rasp in the exhaust note in my car. It ALSO gets rid of the drone inside the interior...but don't believe me...just watch the videos...all the same setup, first just doesn't have the stock GM Resonator.

Before: Video - xp start up - exhaust gtp

After: YouTube - bluegtp03's Channel

i dont have a cat, u-bend, or resonator, and i cant even hear my exhaust above 50 mph

this "highway drone" ive heard so much about does not exist

HOWEVER, it is definitely there in the city, i like it though. sounds 1000 times better then all these 4 cylinders with glass packs

Alright i will go catless for now and see about the res and mufflers. For the downpipe is 3 in better then the 2.5 in is there really a performance difference, this is on a STOCK gt too

You don't know anything about the 3800 exhaust note then. :th_shakinghead1:

Most people will say with the N/A motor, a 2.5" Downpipe...BUT...if you plan on modding it the 3" Downpipe will help you down the road...I say 3", but that is just me.
