ZZP 1.0 PCM for GT

Dude, where are you getting your information? I think you need to go sit and read a bit chief. Higher line pressure and shift kits ARE BETTER for automatic transmissions. Since they are shifting faster there is less time the clutches are making contact so therefore, less wear. He paid $1,600 for a rebuilt transmission which is a pretty fair price from a trans shop...probably why you went through 2 transmissions because the people building yours didn't know what they were doing and you got what you paid for. Raising shift points is another thing...that is engine related...you could turn 7 grand...it doesn't matter. Plus, if it is rebuilt...please tell me what he would have to worry about...nothing you say? That's right...especially since it has a lifetime warranty.

If it has a lifetime warranty I wouldn't worry about it then...go beat the snot out of it. SO...it does it have a new TQ. Conv. or a Re-manufactured one? The converter is bolted to the back of the flywheel of the engine and it does exactly what it is named for...it converts the torque from the engine to the transmission to turn the wheels...which is a very vauge description of it. Google it for more info. Did they rebuild the vacuum powered transmission in your car then? So it still has the stock 4T60E? You need to just find a 4T65E...or for that money...have Dave at Triple Edge Performance build you a transmission and you will never have to worry about it again for the price you paid for your lifetime one.

Well I can ask my fatehr who took it to the shop for me but any who the paper work says rebuilt transmission (will find out exactly what they "rebuilt" i guess lol) and Exchange Torque Converter. SO with that said, should I bother getting the PCM first? or What should be my next step, honestly I highly doubt I am going to get a new tranny in the near future since I recently paid so much for this one. What do ya think?

Well i bought a tranny for $300 with less than 50,000 miles on it had it installed with a rebuild for less than $1000 AND lifetime warranty. Im just going off of what the mechanic told me not to do and that was beat the living daylights out of it right away. And some where on here i read ZZP PCMs are not the way to go! I hear some have blown motors and trannies so thats where i got my info was this site. All PCM vendors make you sign something saying they are not responsible for damages using the product but not on anything else you woud buy

The recommended vendor PCMs are usually Intense and Overkill. I just installed the Intense one and noticed slight improvement with only an intake and no other mods. You also need a CASE re learn done to get the timing right i think i heard. The GM tech i called wanted $50 for something like a 10 minute job but i found someone with a Snap on scanner

You also don't require a CASE learn. It is hit and miss. Also...DHP is the only vendor I recommend for a mail-order PCM. Don't bother with the 3 month wait time at Overkill or the VERY rare decent Intense PCM from what I've heard lately. I think you need to quit listening to your GM tech who also raped you.

Frank...I've pointed you in the right direction...it is your car...you do with it what you want...I just gave you my opinion on the matter.

I thought the same thing about the CASE learn cause my SES light didnt come on so i called Intense just to make sure and they said it NEEDS to be done cause your timing is off just not enough to set the light off. I have little experience in pcms but i thought DHP closed shop? And for some reason the Intense one i bought hits the rev limiter at 4000 rpm i was under the impression they move it up more than that i thought stock was closer 3500 rpms what gives?

If your talking about idle rev...then that stays at 4 grand...the Intense tune has been known to have issues. DHP DID close up shop a few years back, but they left 3800 Performance the bin files from them to sell...they just aren't advertised as DHP PCM's anymore. Sell your Intense one...and either get a DHP PCM form them or contact Reptile and have him put a DHP tune in your Intense PCM...he tunes tons of cars on here including mine...and does great work.

Sounds like i should, i still have my stock PCM that i didnt mail back yet and the shift out of 1st seems really harsh even in regular traffic. Like i said i dont really have experience in PCMs so not sure what to expect
