Zach's new 05 gtp much slowz

Re: Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe

Re: Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe

You did your retros didn't you?

Sent from the Milky Way

Nope i cheated and bought them. Originally on chunky ( then chunkygtp because he got banned, yes thats his username) car, he traded it, then that guy sold it, went to another guy in Grand Rapids, i saw the posting on craigslist and asked about the retros because they weren't on the car and he claimed they were broken when it was only the headlight bracket that was broken. Couldn't pass it up at all, but would definitely be willing to make a set if someone wanted or may make a custom set myself in the future. The hardest part is opening the lights, then other then that it should be smooth

Re: Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe

Guy on here selling a set for 260 unless they are gone. I really want them for my commute at 4am in the backroads. Lots of critters I don't wanna kill. Plus the high beams on this bi xenon kit are trash. Might just bite the bullet and try to make a set or buy used or classy

Re: Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe

Honestly its just best for aiming your lights and giving you the cutoff. If anything, i recommend the metal housing fog lights (blazertech, hella optilux, pilot cyberwhite, or the oriley/autozone/walmart foglights they have there) and then put hids into them. Thats what will light up the road and hids in stock lights help as well. Just my opinion but retros are definitely an upgrade from stock.

Re: Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe

Just a little update: headlights are all sealed up, just have to waterproof the controller and find which way is best to wire them so i can get them on and take a few new pics!

Re: Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe

I told you it wouldn't happen haha! I would be putting them on if i had time, but I work here in a bit and it just started raining so hopefully tomorrow after work

Re: Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe

You gonna weld them right, also if your rocking stock muffs now get a hacksaw or something with a cutoff wheel.

Re: Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe

For now i am just going to clamp them because i am looking at other gp's but a gtp this time and want to be able to take it off and put it onto that one.

Re: Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe

Tell them your low on blinker fluid then take your tail light and dump the water thats inevitability in them on your bosses desk. Bet after that you will have a lot more time to work on the car.

Lmfao that would be a good one, but i am already here for the rest of the night! Cant wait to put them on though

Re: Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe

Good luck getting the old ones off, you will need it.

I dont think they will be too bad because Josh (jkroll17 i think his name is on here) got his to un-clamp fairly easy and then he welded on the se/40th tips, but never know haha

Re: Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe

Well I tried to unclamp mine but they were so corroded on and had so much pressure on the clamp it bent the metal and it was a PITA.
Muffler ended up like this and a bolt on the clamp snapped off. I ended up using 3ft breaker bar and it loosened up easy but took some pounding with a BFH but mine were off the car.

Great what did i get myself into :th_scratchhead: jk shouldn't be too bad i hope, and if needed, I always have my dads help!

Zach's blue 2000 gt coupe new tips and headlights 5/28

Well enough with the teasing, it down poured all day with rain and finally stopped so i got the chance to put them on. Nevertheless, i finally got two things done, but still have a list to go before I am happy. When in doubt, pull the hammer out to get the tips off :th_laugh-lol2: the clamps were broken, so i kept swinging and wiggling them until they finally came out. New ones are a little crooked and low, but i like it way more than before and a little deeper tone now. (I will try asap to get better pictures because this was just using my ipad and the car needs to be washed BAD)

Now some actual pictures with the headlights in. They are surprisingly pretty bright for being led and in the daytime (the color may seem off from the angle that i took the pictures at)

And then here is the demo video of the two settings it has for flash and strobe, I can also change the speed of how fast they change. It looks like they go from side to side changing color, but they actually change at the same time!
