NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. -- A car fire in Westmoreland County damaged a garage and the vehicle's owner said he thinks he knows what started the flames.Just before 3 a.m. emergency crews responded to a fire on Seventh Street in New Kensington.Matt Matarrese, the car's owner, said he heard several explosions. He also told Channel 4 Action News that his 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix had just been recalled.General Motors recalled more than 200,000 1997-2003 model Buick Regals and Pontiac Grand Prix because of a fire risk. The recall includes a strong warning not to park the vehicles "in a garage, carport or other structure" to avoid the risk of fire.In the recalls section of its website, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said "certain underhood fires may be caused by drops of engine oil being deposited on the exhaust manifold through hard braking."If the oil runs below the heat shield, and the manifold is hot enough, the NHTSA warns it could ignite.Matarrese said he was aware of the recall, and just had his car repaired. But he said something obviously went wrong."I went and got it fixed. But it looks like it started in the engine, that's what the fire department told me," said Matarrese.Even though the car was parked outside the garage, the flames jumped to the structure. No one was hurt in the fire.

^ i agree with Joe. Tough break but at 3 am. He"d have to be able to prove to me that he had just gotten back from an aggressive drive an parked it there 5 mins ago otherwise hes not getting any insurance money. i bet he was sleeping and had been home for hours before it happened and the fire was caused another way. he was prob standing there telling them the story in his pajamas.

maybe he needs to pay for some baby daddy bills because he has no money and needs money asap or he goes to jail....... LMAO idk but its all bull..

speaking of getting some.........Joe, did you ever start dating that hot chick you were telling us about? My guess is no, because you never mention it anymore. Sucks for the prix though

Exactly. I had them do my recall a long while back an i took it back and made me give them the plug wire channel back. The recall is on the cover gasket not the plug wire channel. And the way they did the recall my wires were touching the manifold i was like H*** no! Not gonna happen! That was fun they got all upset an printed off the picture of exactly what they were supposed to do an sure enough they were supposed to do but i wanst havin it. no way

HE was probably driving home plastered running from the cops and spilt some captain on the manifold when he got home.

That's probably the reason. New ken is a "spit" hole.
I work LP and the last two times I was in New Ken I saw a girl prostitute herself and today I walked into the guys bathroom and there was a girl and guy in there. It rhymes with slow mob.
