Just dont know if i could pay 3k for a pregen. But they are supposedly pretty easy to swap a l67 into. I have a pre gen w body i paid 500 for that is sitting in storage with a l67 i pulled from a rusted out 99 gtp im planning on doing this with.

Sure, it's easy to scoff at it today, but for it's time, 215hp/220lb-ft ('96 & '97) out of a 3.4L was pretty impressive. By comparison, we have a website full of people who think the world of a 3.8L *supercharged* motor that puts out an entire 240hp. That's only 25 more hp out of a bigger motor that has the HUGE advantage of forced induction. Also, the LQ1s respond VERY well too boost. Well over 300whp is the norm even with just 6 or 7 lbs when turboed.
 


I know the lq1 all to well, have driven and worked on a 93 lumina z34 with an auto and a 92 z34 with a manual. The manual was a fun car to drive. It's just sad that GM had to gimp that engine from its intended 275hp because there wasn't a transmission available that could support that much power.

Isn't a fully moded GTP capable of 300/300? I know I've seen full mod GTPs beat stock GXPs and a tuned stick GXP can do 290-300/290-300.

These engines put out more torque than horsepower, and stock they put out 280ft/lbs. So either he's retarded or they did something wrong. I'm leaning towards a combination of both.

How does a photo of the blower off indicate a performance modification? I had to take my blower off to change intake gaskets, does this mean if I would have taken pictures of it on my floor is be at my 300hp goal already!
