To be fair, he also said $400 for an oil pan gasket, but only paid $800 for a paint job. I'd say numbers are skewed, but could be that he paid a shop to do all this work, and labor + markup would justify the costs. If they pulled the blower to replace it and went back with new gaskets, you could jump a simple coupler change to a couple hundred dollar job.

The guy is in Cary, NC. Yuppie hell, lots of money and sterile neighborhoods. Most buildings are brown. Stepford Wives all over again.

actually 800 for paint is plausible, black ppg single stage is really cheap.... but that's provided no labor was included in the paint so only way that makes sense is if he did it himself lol. My complete paint job will only be about 1000 single stage but the pigments in red make any red paint fairly expensive
