I had a prescription for my window tint when I was in Wisconsin. got one from my neurologist it said " window tint is advised for me to prevent paralytic migraines and temporary blindness and or seizures" the cops pulled me over and gave me a ticket anyways. took it to court and lost had to pay the fine and the judge said if I can't drive without tint on my windows then they would take my license.

tint came off and I STILL refuse to take my meds for seizures

now I live in Texas and have tint on my windows and am going back to wisconsin for a visit and they can write all the tickets they want I ain't paying them and I'm not taking the tint off
 
hmm wonder if i can swing this maybe one of my military doctors

because ya know being out in the desert with the blinding sun reflecting off the sand takes its toll....:eek:

Damn, that sucks, I've got a couple of tickets here for tint, but, they always tell me if I tear the tint off and bring it into the courtroom that they'll drop the ticket. So, $10 at a parts store for a roll of tint, cut it , tear the back off, wad it up and there... I ripped my tint off... has got me out of two so far...
 
your birthday is the same day as mine. and tint tickets suck. how bout just stick with the legal limit? 35 aint bad.

also, 'its my birthday' line is the worst thing to say to a cop.
 
I have 10% on mine, legal in Ok is 35% front, rears and back doesn't matter as long as both side mirrors are functional, per state troopers

Texas State troopers are the same way... My answer per the cops in both areas is to keep the windows down at all times when driving. If they aren't down and an officer pulls you over, roll them down all the way immediately. They can't legally prove that they are illegal if they are down, and they can't test them if you refuse to roll them up, and a warrant to test the window tinting will not be approved. Fight rolling them back up on the spot and he cannot give you a ticket for it. They can technically be painted black on all 4 windows as long as they are down when the vehicle is under operation, you have the right to privacy when its parked, the rest of the time you HAVE to be able to see properly. It sucks and that's an odd loop hole but its there :th_winking:
Remember for next time, even if its freezing roll down both fronts and argue that they are legal and without a warrant he can't test them. He can't MAKE you roll them up!
 


Kind of ironic...i had a cop wave at ME today....i waved back and all was good..i have 15% front and 5% rear...from what I hear tint isn't really enforced in my area but i also hear once you go over into iowa that enforce it a lot more.

For TLSheff: You can actually tell them "no" to not roll up your windows?

try that in Jefferson County Wisconsin...I did the cop told me if the windows don't work I get another ticket yes they can and will write you for anything and if they can't test it you get a ticket and depending on the cop failure to comply there is like 5 different things they will write you for if you don't do what they say I fvckin hate them. Jefferson County cops call themselves the "Traffic Nazis" for a reason. what you got tint on your windows thats a ticket ....what your lights are 6000k and have a very slight blue tint to them thats another ticket....got a chrome exhaust tip thats another ticket.... what your muffler rusted off and you replaced it with a slightly louder muffler thats another ticket... what you were in walmart parking lot and some azzclown hit your car and took off the mirror on the passenger side and you haven't gotten home yet ....THATS another ticket... you just spent $1200 on a lowered suspension dropping the car 2 inches yup you guessed it thats another ticket.... now do you see why I don't live in Jefferson county anymore pulled over 67 times in two months they HATED that vehicle or loved it ...I'm not sure

Last time I got pulled over for tint, I was in my pickup. He went back to the car to write the ticket. I grabbed a corner and peeled most of it off real quick, when he came back I had the window up. I still got the ticket, apparently they don't enjoy smart-a$$es. :)
 


Cops WERE like that in Bryan County, a friend got immunity from them after getting the best laywer in the city who apparently had a run in with the law and had a vendetta against them. The lawyer took his list of wrongful accusations on his car being "illegal" (same thing, lowered, hids, body kit, exhaust, intake, about 20k in parts all around). The list and the lawyer came with a harassment suit to the city police dept. given that my buddy recorded the cop consistantly passing around the block watching the house/car, and all the stops and warnings and several tickets *mind you, all by 1 officer*. He has a restraining order for the officer and basically unless he is WAY outside the law and is a danger to society and himself can get away with it.

Since then they laid off the "Illegal Mods" on cars. O same buddy also took in a couple videos of the cops playing in the cars that we recorded, and my personal favorite was the 4 officers sitting in a gas station parking lot talking to a guy with a new (at the time) Z06 vette, this past summer. They chatted for a while, looked the car over. Made comments over how fast it was and if he raced it, found out it was a TX state troopers car and he came up to show off to a buddy officer. They then let him smoke the tires for a block as he shot off. While he went WOT thru 3rd (think how fast he was going out of town on a 2 lane blacktop, spd limit at 45mph) they all cheered, then got pissed when they realized it was on tape.... so we left ... quickly, he still has the recording, i need to try and find it, sooo funny :th_laugh-lol2:
 
I wish the only reason cops talked to me was to compliment me on my car but instead we are looked down upon and called street racing thugs! Not even us street racing its the purple and orange hondas, the cavis, sunfires, mustangs! All the ricers who are v6 or 4 bangers!

Profiling? Yes! they see me coming with my 6k HID's, Exhaust, Loud SC wine, Black headlights, taillights, and tinted windows and dollar signs come to thier eyes!

if you ever get stopped and feel like chatting with the cops in the watertown area ask them about the black low rider they clocked at 140 going through town.....it was the next day I started getting pulled over so much

it wasn't me :th_liar:

I miss that truck I had SOOOOO much money stuck into it
