• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

You name it!!!

So within the last three months I have had a bunch of problems. First my blower control and DIC went out. I later found the cause being an Ignition switch! I replaced it and then everything worked. With the exception of the DIC goes out and comes back in along with my radio display. Both occur at different times, and I can't figure it out! But that's only half my issue. My car idles ok, but when I accelerate it boggs down and runs real rough. I have to let off the gas then it will gradually accelerate. I wasn't getting any codes until just the other day, and I had it scanned at Autozone and it came up my EGR valve. I checked the valve for any carbon build up and replaced the gasket. I changed the plugs and wires (a week ago) and when I was working on the EGR, I noticed #3 plug was visable and the boot was burned. Kind of like it was touching the manifold or something. I found one of the old boots and changed it out. But my car still runs like crap!!!! I have heard everything from MAF, fuel pump, fuel filter, etc. I going to get it scanned at a local garage next week. I just would like to know if anyone else has an idea? I don't have alot of cash and I'm trying to fix this without it costing and arm and a leg!!!! Cuz so far I have spent the arm portion of that!!!! So if anyone can help, please do!!!:(

I had the Cat checked at Midas and they showed me that it was @ 200 degrees before the Cat and 400 near the back of the Cat. Now I'm noticing my headers glowing.....Now what? I'm guessing I shouldn't be driving it until it is fixed?

What do you want to bet...

You have an N/A car...and the cat is clogged. Get a cheap high flow one off of EBay and have it welded in.

/end story.

found out the other day from a guy that works at the local gm dealer, i guess there is an extended warranty on our cats, because they plug up so easy. your prolly sol anyways on them fixing it for free, i just found it interesting that gm actually warrantied the cats longer. just take the ***** out, then there is nothing to clog :D

Well I was thinking about it! I took it off and ran down the street and it took off like a m.f'er....Now I have been told I can just put in a pipe and call it good. But I'm afraid that there could be something else that caused it to go bad!!!! So if I put a pipe in, it will cause my 2nd O2 censor to trip....I don't want to ignore that code and have something else wrong!!! So I'm not sure what I'm gonna do! Plus most shops will refuse service if I have an illegal exhaust!!! Anyone know where I can get a cheap cat or at least affordable? Junkyards won't sell them so I'm stuck with a new one!
