• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Yet again I'm back....

Car is really starting to piss me off. I'm not quite sure whats going on now. Got rid of the vibration (check my other thread not more than a page back), was all good for about a day or so and now I have this slight sound of something rotating, my friend said it almost sounds like rubber flexing but I can feel a grown coming from the front end. Jacked the car up today and check each tire but keeping one on the ground and the other in the air. Drivers side was fine, a slight bit of vibration but nothing I wouldn't consider normal for a wheel being spun in mid air. The passenger side though was vibration pretty bad, I was inside the car and could feel it and my dad said the wheel was shaking side to side. From this I could only figure tie rod but its a brand new tie rod.....Also when I grab the wheel I can get some side to side movement but ONLY with the tire on. I don't have enough leverage to move anything down there without the tire on. With the tire on though if I force the wheel side to side I can get a slight bump which looks like its coming from the steering rack, again I'm not sure though.

The whole front end is pretty much new, parts that are new or newish are: transmission (built by billboost), shocks and springs (GR2 and SSC, the entire assembly is brand new), motor mount, both axles, both front wheel bearings, lower ball joint (pass. side), I have spacers for being lowered.

I'm pretty lost at this point and pissed off even more, give me a hand and let me know what to check because at this point I have no idea....

Check the two large bolts that mount the steering rack to the cradle.
I ahve also heard of the mounting ears for the sterring rack to crack,
but can't remember if it was the alum. cradle or the steel one.

I pulled the tie rod and everything seemed really nice and solid. I may end up having to bring this car somewhere to figure this out.

With it up in the air. Have your buddy move the tire for play. Then you watch each and every part that moves until you find one that isn't.

I had your car apart a bunch of times and it's possible that something has loosened. If it looks like the tie rod, but you put new outters on, I'm thinking the same as Heath. Inner tie rod, or maybe loose rack bolts.

Alright, more people say loose I'm going to check into that. Could be its not loose enough and only moves with enough force, that of which I can only do with the tire on. I'll pull the rear bolts on the cradle and lower it to check closer on the rack. I'll report back in a couple days when it cools off.
