WTH is this tapping noise

Now this issue at hand is this tapping noise coming from I believe the alternator. From what I've found of videos on youtube and such about spun bearings or a shot motor and this sound doesn't match them. Nor does the performance of the car as its running amazingly right now. There is just a tapping noise that I thought was my tensioner pulley so I pulled that and replaced it along with the idler and other tensioner (just to be safe). I pulled the supercharger belt and ran the engine so its not that, also I've already replaced the coupler. Can I pull the main belt and run the engine for a few minutes without having any kind of an issue? I'm looking for anything anyone may have tried in this situation so I can check all my bases at once. Its been raining pretty good for a week or so and will be doing so more and i have only a few days of time to look into this so.....give me a few things to check out while I'm there.

Get a video of it?

Failing lifter...serious exhaust leak...broken flexplate?

And yeah, you can remove the main belt just don't do it for long because it'll get toasty without the water pump moving.

I'll try to get a video of it today but its now raining a bit. Its coming from the side of the engine with the accessory belt. Doesn't sound like an exhaust leak. The tapping get quicker with rpms but the sound doesn't. If I rev it the engine becomes louder than the tapping. Thats why when I was checking my tensioner pulley it was bad and I thought was the issue but guess not.

Ok got a few decent videos. From the videos it sounds horrible but its honestly not that bad. But here they are:

Yeah it does sound kinda nasty.

Def not a broken flexplate, they sound insanely bad, and typically the sound goes away once you rev it a little.

I'd get out a stethoscope, or a screwdriver, socket extension etc. and start poking it around and listening. It could be the alternator, the one on my GT was always noisy as hell until it caught on fire.

Just press it up against different points, and try to find out which point is the loudest. That should help narrow it down

Yeah I'm going to pull both belts and see what that does for it. Honestly it sounds like its coming from the alternator, I'm going to try that screwdriver idea....never thought of using one of them lol.

Thank Bill, let me take a look at it tomorrow and thursday. I'll have time to jack it up and take a look at everything, I have a few other things I need to look at anyways. The car is so close to being exactly how I want it but these few little issues are killing me. lol. If I can't figure it I'll have to stop by and I'm sure it will take all of what 5 minutes maybe for you figure it out ha ha ha?

Yeah already pulled almost everything. Came in for a short break and then I'll be needing to grab a pan so I can drain the coolant out.
