WTF is going on

IrishNation24

Ridin' the Blue
wasnt sure where to post this, so i put it here

ok people, heres whats going on. today i replaced the lim gasket, installed 1.9 rockers, replaced old blower with ported one (yes i filled it with new supercharger oil) replace supercharger and t/b gasket, and valve cover gaskets. and did all the stuff needed to do for this, removing alternator, coil pack, fuel rails, etc. also replaced coolant elbows and all injector orings.

i put everything back together, and everthing is hooked up right. well, i guess its not, cuz im having problems

it took a few tries to start it up, ran sluggish for a second or two, then went to normal idle. not sure if thats normal after doing all this.

but as soon as i went to turn my lights on my fogs flashed on, then went off and i could not get it to go back on(i have hids in them) also, whe i have my blinker on, the LOWER the rpm is, the faster it blinks, faster then normal. it goes normal when i get on the gas, but say when i start to slow down or am sitting at a light, it gets all fast and ****, no lights are blown, and the headlights(hids too) work fine. the highest battery voltage i got was 11, and taht was when i gunned it to get on the highway.

the next problem is that i get no boost. just sitting there its at about 20 vac, like normal and when i start accelerating, it gets closer to 0, but when i mash it, the most boost i get was .8. no, not 8, .8!!!! and i can feel that its not giving any boost. it seems to be running sluggish and not smooth, like i can hear coughs in the exhaust, that i didnt really notice before. and i hear a faint ticking noise in the engine (i could be just imagining it or amplifying it because of the situation, so who knows)

as i said, everything seems to be hooked up right. there was one bolt left, look sorta like the ones used for the stabilizer bar, but i only took the drivers side stablizer bar off to get the iintake out, and i put all three back, and i look all over to see if i could tell where it went, and i saw nothing. its not a lim or a supercharger bolt, i made DAMN sure all those were in.

any help is GREATLY appreciated, i do not know what the **** is going on.

bbv issue for your boost and
guessing a grounding issue check over all your wiring

make sure grounds are all hooked up double and tripple check

the extra nut could be for the grond on the coil bracket

forgot to add one thing with the blinker issue, when it starts goin all fast like that, it sounds like every few seconds i hear this click, like its tripping something. i dont know wtf is wrong with it

that coil packet ground your takin about is the bolt that had that skinny little wire hooked up to it right? sorta on the back bottom of the coil braket? it was a silver bolt to, the one i have left over is black

well it has to be related to the grounds or wirring you unhooked so triple check i think theres two grounds off that harness the lim and on on a stud near the pulleys

lol another thing.....
you know that little bracket on the bottom right side of the supercharger case that a little tiny bar clips into and then goes to the bottom of that round thing in a braket, i pulled that bracket on the bottom out a little bit when i was trying to get that bar in there, would that cause a problem?

even tho that desciption made absolutely no sense im still gonna say yes.

ok ok i was tired last nite, this might be a better description. The round cansiter shaped thing that has a short little fat vac line that connect to the BBV, on the bottom of the braket that it sits in is a little metal bar, that bar clips into a little flat piece thats on the bottom of the blower case, and its on the end of a long rod that goes inside the case. i pulled this thing out a bit when i was putting it all back together. is that a problem?

sounds like 2 problems. the boost problem has to be the BBV. you took it off your old s/c body and put it on the new one right? you have to make sure its just about exact. so look into that. and the blinker problem, i actually had on my fiero when i had it. SAME thing your describing. and its electrical. your missing a bolt. so that somehow has to be related? could it have been a grounding bolt? check the connections to the aternator. RPM's causing different voltage with the alternator causing blinker to go at different speeds. and related stuff like that. hopefully some of this help or at least gives you something else to look at. keep us posted when you find it out! gotta love these strange problems. goodluck!

sorry just read your last post. that is the bbv and is definatly a problem. you probably saw the smaller valve inside the housing when you were putting it on. that metal rod inside the bbv controls if thats open or shut. if its open, you get no boost. so try and get that back to exactly where it was. should fix your problem!

i dont have any idea where it was on the old case, the new case came with the rod in it,but not the bbv, i had to move it a little to get that little metal bar in, but i pushed it all the way back in.

ok, im pretty sure i have found the problem, and its a result of me being a COMPLETE IDIOT. reptile sent me the case, and had told me that the BBV was not in the hole, i didnt read it all they way and just thought he said the bbv was not on the case, meaning the black round cylander thing, with the vac lines on it. car - Picture, this is a pic of my old case, the valve is circled in yellow, and that rod,(circled in red) i was able to pull it out a little bit when i was putting stuff back together, and then it occured to me, "wait a sec, i couldnt even pull it out when i tried to on my old case" and i went to look at the old case, saw that valve in there and how it prevents that rod from being able to pull out, so the fact that i was able to pull out the one on the new case pretty much says its not in there. that being said, is there anyway to get it in without having to take the case completely back off?

and btw, you dont have to tell me im an idiot, i already know lol.

also the wiring thing or whatever it was seems to be fine now, my blinkers work fine and so does everything else, except the fogs still wont turn on, im thinking that i might have blown up the ballasts tho when i tried to turn em on and they jsut flashed and then went off. is there a way to check that?

because thats all he had. or at least thats the one he grabbed and he didnt notice that until he started boxing it up, but nevertheless, he still told me about it so its not his fault at all. he recieved the case without it, so theres nothin he could do about it, and now hes gonna get mine without it cuz whoever took that one out just started a whole chain reaction lol.

so is it unavoidable to have to take the whole case off again? if so, is there a way to take the fuel rails off without spilling fuel everywhere?

well somenoe said somethin about reliveing pressure?? how do u do this?

and the engine is still hot right now, if i spill fuel, the vapors could ignite

pull the fuel pump fuse and start the car should relieve it or wrap a rag around the shradder valve and release the pressure that wat with a screwdriver
