i was on my way home from work today... passed some dumb b*itch doin 20 in a 55... went WOT.. This happened...

OMG!!!!!!!!! sounds like....rod knock.....and LACK of piston. I know that sound very well....

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

check compression on all cylinders, and drain your oil, check it for metal. sounds like ya need a new shortblock.

First things first, check your spark plugs. If one is smashed, well....
(going off of other replies, can't hear the vid here at the office)

Ill at least pull the front bank tonight, waiting on a ratchet.

thanks for all the quick replies.

Yea the vid sounds like crap through my cheepys speakers definatly sounds bad pull plugs and check um
if you have no power you definatly lost a cylinder or to time for a short block probably your best bet

From my lil experience...

Piston is no longer on the connecting rod, more than likely shattered.. therefore the rod is just knocking on your cylinder walls everytime the crank turns... this would be what your hearing.

price out a shortblock and go from there. that is not valvetrain noise.... low pitched and slow.... if it were vlavetrain it would be fast paced and more like a tap.

pull the heads and see what damage has been done.

well that makes 99 problems... luckily its tax season and i have 2 really good friends ASE certified. One owns a 5 bay shop.. perhaps time for a cam? any suggestions?

That thread i posted "why am i knocking" apparently i was ya think? On to my next question.... WHY? stock pulley, open cone intake, 3 in catted DP.
