"wrong" struts wanted for front of 97GTP to raise it..

DONT ask why, but for some reason at the grand prix meet/show this year, there was a grand prix there that had installed the "wrong" struts for the front of his car that ended up raising it almost 2 inches.... I need to rebuild the rear of my GTP and for the stupid offroading I plan on doing with it I would just install these struts in the front, then raise the rear via rebuilding the rear strut towers....

Any help would be appreciated.

ya that GP was crazy.

Over in the Bonneville world, the Monroe Quick Struts have been found to have 1-2 extra coils and will raise front of the car. Im assuming that its the case with the GP's also

I did and he didnt know why it was like that. He said he just changed struts didnt mention springs.

I did a bit of eyeball measuring of the 04 struts and I see that the spring perch is visually higher up on the strut body compared to the 97 style....

Going to pick up my 04+ struts today. Weld bombing of rear suspension strut mounts begins soon. Going to cut out whats left of the strut mount I have, then build a 3 inch box on top of it, then weld it back into the car... 3 inch lift.

Front end should just happen when the new struts go in, I cant find anything that looks wrong about them other than the extreme length. Only major fear is not being able to align it with enough negitive camber, but I could round out the mounting holes if needed.
