no his custom axle is what broke the trans was fine
 
Not to thread jack but: How do you tell the diffrence between the 282 and the 284? Is there a tag, and if so where is it located? Thanks!
 
I lawl'ed at this post. I guess the op has seen a lot more than I have, bc I believe I've only seen this done twice.

And unless your daddy is a master fabricator, and has a ton of time on his hands, it doesn't matter how good of a mechanic he is.
