i got a 00 gtp and the only mod i have is a DIY FWI and ever since i had a cracked plug and switched to autolite APP104 double platinums my car misfire when im WOT but when im just cruising around its fine.....could my car not like the platinums or a bad wire? because it misfires pretty bad i get on it and at about 3000-5000 rpms it just studders and then jolts forward and misfires and then jolts again i got smoked when i ran an audi the other day and had this not happened i know i would have ate his ass lol so i wanna fix it any solutions lemme know please thanks

I had a similar problem changed plugs it got better for a while then came back mine ended up being my wires I was running MSD switched to PRJ's and no problems

normally forced induction do not like platnum plugs...as they melt with heat. a normal copper core plug will do. normal AL104's would be perfect, or the NGK's.

I would check the plugs again. see if there are any cracks, hairline fractures..... if not check the tips. any build up? if not. I would do what black. gtp suggested and change the plug wires.

I went through about 4 sets a plugs tring to figure it out I was running AL 104's I lost a few races cause of the issue then I had Headers, 3.4, CAI, trans, and tune it would make me mad when I would got WOT and it would take off then fall on its face spit and sputter. Plugs where cheap so I just kept changing them. PRJ suggested changing the wires it worked

Good Luck

i think its safe to assume this is what it was? and i wanna change wires soon are autolite plug wires any good or should i stick to OEM ac delco?

The gm ones wouldn't be bad yea that could cause it :th_winking: just get the regular AL104 plugs

I upgraded to the PRJ wires but I have a mild build now ever body has a opinion on what wires some say I wasted my money for the PRJ's but its what you want and what will work I like my wires they where over $100 but imo worth it :th_winking:

That...or a bad coil pack. Both cracked plus and bad coil packs will do what you described.

thanks for the help guys it was def that coil pack problem is completely resolved but im still gonna change to APP104 copper plugs and new wires :)

I agree with you. PRJs are durable, look good, give you more options on routing, and give you that piece of mind.

for everyone that doubts PRJ wires today my car caught fire

the fire melted my fuel lines and the other wiring on the back but the PRJ wires survived I happen to be with Paul when my car caught fire he was impressed with the wires cause of the other damage
