Worried about my engine Temp....didnt find during a search

My 01 GTP got hotter than I am used to. Usually it stays around 170-180. I stopped at a light and the temp shot up to just under the gauge at 210. So here is my question(s)

1 Should I be worried about the engine? No new noises to be heard
2. Where should I start looking? Water pump?

I burned up my last 3800 so bad I dont want the same to happen to this one.
 


could have some air trapped in the lim. bleed the t stat housing.

it is rather normal tho to have some temp swing driving vs stopped. 210 is nothing to be worried about, its what gm wants your engine running at, why the hi speed fans dont kick on till 212.
 
Are you positive that your fans are in working order? 210 isn't anything to be worried over. Unless you're tuned for the fans to turn on earlier
 
I will check the lines and the fans. Again its just that I am so worried that I will do this again.
I never have quite forgiven myself for melting down the '98. I want to be a responsible owner and do most of this myself
so today I am under the hood.
