won't start

Hello,

I'm posting on behalf of my father-in-law.

He has a 2000 Grand Prix.

It won't start (just happened yesterday). He's checked the battery (lots of charge), fuses, wires....everything seems fine. When he turns the key, the lights go on....BUT there is no click click click....so does that mean the starter is gone? Or a wire somewhere he hasn't found? He's tried boosting it as well, and it still doesn't start.

Any help or ideas or a place to start would be appreciated.

good chance the starter is dead.

you can while someone holds the key to start, then hit the starter with a hammer, if it cranks its the starter.

also check your grounds, the main one is on the bell housing bolt above the starter.
