The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
I had it rebuilt after I replaced the battery and the car wouldn’t start. Didn’t test it before having it rebuilt. Passed the bench test twice and worked fine on the ground hotwired to the battery.
(I work for the FD so I’m gone 24 hours at a time).
So with everything connected I get 9.7-9.9 to the purple wire. Is this enough to start the car? Should I work backwards from there?
Check what you are reading at the battery between terminals. Let's work this from start to finish. You said new battery and we are assuming it's good. A new battery could have a bad cell. It's not common, but can happen.
Been away awhile. Work and church stuff. Anyhoo, I was trying to test the positive bolt at the starter and the negative bolt at the trans bell housing with my voltmeter. A 3 person job. Well the freaking thing started! Made no sense to me at the time. But I decided to completely remove my negative cable and replace t even though I had replaced it shortly before I parked it for a year. It was severed. WTH?!?! Being that it’s Tucson and a hundred and stupid more days than it’s not the plastic cable retainers? (Whatever they’re called) failed and let the sleeve with both positive and negative cables rub against the lowest pulley on the serpentine (water pump maybe?)
So got it all replaced and it started right up. Only problem is finding those retainer clips. I’ll use zip ties for now but those clips are not available at Autozone, oreillys or Pep boys.
Thank You everyone for your input. You guys make this site what it is!
