Wondering if rotating tires could help with flat spots

If i were to rotate back to front and spun the tires a little would it bring down bad flat spots?

kind of a theory i heard from a friend in the car club down here.

I should have probably added in that i did this on my beater taurus for shi*'s.

I've done this. It does seem to help. I actually had a mechanic tell me to do this. LOL. Took me about two-three good burnouts before the flat spots were completely gone.
