wizaired intake did not fit?.. please help

I ordered a series 3 wizaired intake for 04 gtp. After much trouble, i was convinced that the intake was not designed for my car. Nothing was lining up. My friend then looked on the inner panel of the door and noticed that the car was manufactured in 03, so i have a veryy early 04 model. Do i require a series 2 intake or what? Like i said, this really appeared to not be the correct intake. Somebody please help me out with this. Thanks.
 


the only difference in the series 2 ans 3 intakes is the ducting is split for the series 3 because of the inline MAF. Can you take pics of how it isn't "fitting"
 
I do not think they shipped the wrong one because it came with the instructions for installing the series 3 intake.
 
Well...they could have tossed a series II intake in the box with the right instructions mang. Pictures of the issue...that'll help us a ton more.
