Wiring Harness Question

So today while my dad and myself were taking loose the motor on my donor car to put into my daily driver (bad rod knock), we noticed the wiring harness around the knock sensor was catching and we couldn't figure out where or how to get it loose. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, best way to get the reversed bolt on the bell housing out? It's been a major pain. Thanks in advanced everyone.

rear knock sensor wire is clipped to the p/s pump bottom, from there is a little plug to un plug the little harness from the knock sensor, you leave the foot long wire hanging its fine.

the f u bolt

can be done like this from the pass side fender, no air gun is needed. just a few extensions.

the bracket needs to be removed first, from the tranny to the engine block.

Yes, this is what we were trying to do with that bolt, but couldn't for the life of us figure out how to get to it with the extensions. Also, does the p/s pump need to come off or is it okay on there and we just need to unplug the harness?

i had changed my pump years ago and left it un clipped then. when i did my engine swap i un bolted the p/s pump and laid it off tot he side. then un plugged the little knock sensor harness.

that bracket between the tranny and engine needs to come off, once it is look behind the engine with a light from the wheel well, you'll see the backward bolt.

Thank you so much, I sent him a screenshot of your reply and picture and he said that's exactly what he was wondering about was the bracket coming off.

As far as the knock sensor, I was removing the PS reservoir and pump for investigating a leak in it. The cable for the knock sensor was attached to it as stated, it was such a pain to try and remove the barbed cable holder from under the PS pump that I cut the barb as it connects to the holder at the cable connectors there and then easily could get off the pump / reservoir.

I used a tie wrap to hold cable back in position, use a mirror to look under the reservoir and you will see the hole in some support plastic under the pump, which is an extension of the side reservoir wall. Easy to feel by hand and slide the tie wrap thru and hold the cable a and connector in place.

The bell housing nut is beyond me, but I'm glad I learned from this question, thank you both!
