wipers wont go down

the wipers on my grand prix just sit up on the windshield when not being used instead of the normal position. they still work and will go down but wont go down when not in use, any ideas? it is pretty cold here if that has any effect
 


the wiper lock/park tab is bent, google that a diagram should be found that shows the part.

you take the cowl off the lower windshield to get to the wiper transmission part.
 
it wont hurt anything to let it go for a while, its just annoying when they dont park. ice and snow caused that btw. clear your blades off well before using them.
