Wiper Pulse board or Multi function control

Good evening everyone my name is Jessica I am new here and I did a brief search before I ask this question.

Issue: Wipers only work when they are on high, low, or washing. The intermitent pulse does not work. I read through the factory service manuals for my 2000 grand prix se and it leads me to either the wiper pulse control board or the multi function control switch (ie, the turn signal, cruise control, wiper control lever) The pulse board is 40 dollars the lever is 400.

Has it been determined that one of these parts goes out more frequently than the other? If anyone has any feedback it would be greatly appriciated! Thank you!

I have the same problem with my car, I can put the switch to the delay and it either makes the wipers go on the low setting or tries to do some weird delay. One swipe then a pause the 2 or 3 swipes in a row then a pause. The low and high settings work and even the wash setting works. I think it's the Wiper Pulse board and hopefully not the switch.

Does anyone know where the Wiper Pulse board is located in the car?

Has anyone had this problem before and figured out what the problem is?

Thanks

I was doing a search online about the problem and I found this...

"The only other thought I have is a faulty pulse module which is part of your windshield wiper motor and is enclosed in a black plastic box with 3 or 4 screws holding it to the motor assembly. (This pulse module can be purchased separately and does not come with the motor). This is a circuit board which controls Wiper Park, intermittent wiper speeds, and washer pump/wiper sweep operation. I have seen this many times."

I'm going to pick up one and give it a try and see if that fixes my problem

It's the electronic board on the wiper motor i'm pretty sure. Mine does the same thing. It pauses when in the intermittent selection about halfway up the window. Very Annoying Indeed!

I went to the junkyard and got another one of a GP and installed it in my car and it works great! Just be sure not to mess with any of the linkage above the motor, mine got messed up and it took me awhile to get it working again.
