Wiper dont work at all

So first of all i have a 2005 base grand prix ... 2 weeks ago the wipper start to run slowly , sometime i have to help it to park . Now they dont work at all no sound no move ... the motor? the wipper transmition? what do you think ?

Update: The problem was the little rod where the wiper is attached , sand,dust and mud come between the rod and the transmission arm and rust here . Pull off the rod , clean and grind the rust in the hole and on the rod, apply some grease (mmmmm lot of grease) and the wiper work like new!

I just found out I am having the same problem in my 04. Slow moving to a sudden stop right in the middle of the windshield. I will have to look at the rod arm to see if that is the cause. If not, I hope it doesnt rain!
 


My dad had that problem on his 04. Turned out he needed a new motor for it. I guess it died lol
 
Any idea about cost? I looked it up on the internet but I didnt have much luck. Obviously a used one from a junker would be les cost.
I am looking into see if my warrenty on the car covers it.

I figured out that it was the linkage. I hope. I took a little bit of Krown and sprayed it on the housing. It started off slow but when it worked a little bit it got back into the groove.
