winter driving.

my favorite was last year during 16in snowstorm we got, a out of town cute college girl was pulling over to make a phone call and got stuck, walked up to my house and asked for help:D

raped my front lower facia, got ****ton of snow in front of the radiator, got stuck 3 times in my own parking lot. being lowered hurts sometimes, but its worth it.

i personally think driving in the snow is kinda fun lol i just dont trust anyone else. my car has a "second gear start" option...LOL talk about an old form of traction control

Snow is fun if you know how to drive. Dont take corners fast and leave room to brake. And make sure your brakes are good. I was slowing down on a 55 and hit a patch of black ice and put my tempo in the ditch at an intersection cause the rear brakes locked up on me.

and if you think fwd is amazing, try awd.

my subaru gets around better with worn tires than my grand prix did with new tires.

I'll see you worn tires and raise you a brand new set of Blizzaks. What snow? Turning, stopping, accelerating, everything is amazing.

I'll never do it again but this one time I was driving in one foot deep snow and made it out of their without getting stuck, just kept going as fast as I could so I would not loose momentem.

blizzaks are awesme it made this unruly beast winter driveable

cammed 68 olds 350 10:1 compretion headers dyned at 387 RWHP poor mans line lock IE no rear brakes. still have the engine the car it's self was stolen

it was a great car. it was an odd oen though mexican export modle, F41 perfomance handleing package, quick ratio steering, HD springs and shocks, 3.73 posi, Brougham interior, factory 8.5" 10 bolt instead of the 7.5" and a olds 350 dielel... yes diesel vary weird car

My GT is decent in the Indiana snow, as any FWD car should be. My BIGGEST complaint with the car, however, is the clearance between the wheels and the body isn't very much, so it doesn't take long for a bunch of snow to get packed in there. Out of all the cars I've owned, so far the best FWD one in the snow was my '91 Sundance. Small & skinny tires, under-powered 4 cyl, and plenty of clearance between the wheels and body. That thing was awesome in the snow...

I'll take my Goodyears with a ton of siping on my 04 Silverado.

That snow was about 6-7" deep and I was in 2wd, didnt have any issues. Last Winter I was out busting 4-5 foot deep drifts, one was probably 4'6-10" deep and about 150' long and it was a non-issue.

Still not sure where people get the idea that on these cars having snows in the rear is worth anything, I've been running 2 in front for about 8 years now on the winter beater, the only time I fishtailed was when I tried and it took quite a bit to get it to do that.

These cars like to understeer so much practically nothing short of a upgraded rear sway and stb + bald tires in the back can make the rear-end slide out in the snow.

I've gotten mine to slide out when it was mildly wet without even trying. I was quite surprised when it happened lol. But they're not that hard to slide with STBs. I could use new tires but they're not bald by any means

My car has the 2nd gear start aswell. It comes in handy when its really icy out.

And yes these cars seem to handle snow like its nothing. E-Brake slides are always fun too !

My GP does ok in the snow as of right now. It has spun out once in about 2" of snow but that is about it. One of my few complaints is that I have to let it coast itself up to about 5 mph or else it will just spin them. Granted my front tires are at 5/32" and the back ones are damn near bald (thanks PO!) however I think it would be way better if it had some new tires on it. My other complaint is that the car always says traction off no matter how many times I try to press the button (whats up with that???).

My previous car, my 2000 Dodge Intrepid, went hard in the paint in the snow. I could drive the speed limit or faster in any conditions in that thing and it has some mildly worn off brand touring tires on it. By any conditions I really mean any, that thing would never spin out, even when I tried. I could drive through snow that went up to the front bumper or higher and no issues at all. God I love that car, its too bad the 2.7 motor in it blew up with 68,294 miles on the clock thanks to a water pump failure (if you know these engines you know what I am talking about). This spring though a new one should be going in it, hopefully.

Anyway the grand prix is a little higher on power than that car was lol.

You're putting in another 2.7....?

I run General Altimax Artic snow tires in the stock sizing on my 99 GTP it will drive through 10-12" continuously without getting stuck but the passenger side of the engine bay gets packed with snow and the belts start slipping. The GTP doesnt get stuck but it does suck, the ABS makes it a dangerous POS when trying to stop and its out of control over about 45 mph in anything more than a few inches. Before the GTP I had a 94 Eclipse, SOHC with a 5 speed and I ran Goodyear Ultra Grips in a tall narrow 185/75 14 that car would easily push snow with the headlights and you could drive easily and safely drive 70mph on the freeway in blizzard conditions. Also with 4 wheel discs and no abs it would stop like it was on pavement on everything short of black ice.
