winsheild wiper issue

Iwas on the highway last night with my wipers on full blast, then all of a sudden my passenger wiper start slamming down on the piece of plastic it sits on when in park position. so i turned them off real quick them turned it back on it was fine for a minute then it started banging hard then the passenger wiper slammed into the driver wiper bending the sh*t out of the blade. now i haven't pulled off the cowl yet but from searching i understand there is a motor and a trans for these.

Now my driver side works normal perfectly fine.


So since I haven't looked under the cowl yet; am I looking at getting a new trans or a new arm or could this be one of those stupid "TAB" issues?
 


Sounds like the bolt might have just come loose. Check that first; Pop off the black cap at the base of the wiper arm, and see if it's loose at all. If so, make sure the wiper is in the correct placement, switch position off, and tighten it up. It's rare for the wiper trans or motor to go out of these, most of the time it's just the loose bolts or the "tab" you speak of.

well i popped off the cap and tried tightening it. that did not help and there's a snow storm so i popped the arm off for now and am rolling in the snow with one wiper until i figure out what part i need or what the hell needs to be fixed.:th_shakinghead2:
