Window won't roll up

Hey guys

Sorry to make my first post like this - I'm new to your forums and am not familiar with them.

I did a search on windows, but found nothing. Sorry if this is a repost.

I'm trying to help a friend with a 99 two door Grand Prix......driver's side window won't roll up.

I cleaned the switch real good, it still doesn't work.

Any ideas?

is the glass real loose in the door? could be a broken regulator cable, bad motor, bad ground. Have you pulled the panel and looked at it to see if the motor is trying to run (broken track maybe)

I took the door panel off and put 12 volts directly to the motor - rolled right up.

However while I had the wire harness of the motor I hooked my volt meter up to it......when I click the switch it shows 12V positive or negative depending if I'm going up or down.

That leads me to believe it is NOT the switch. Or is it?

Is there some type of relay in between the switch and motor?
