Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Window Tint

Iowa law requires fronts to be 30% and up, and as far as rears go, you could spray paint them black if you like. I'm thinking 15 - 20% on the rears, and 30 up front. Does anybody have any good pictures using 15 - 20%, along with 30%?

this is a front shot of my car, 35 up front, and 20 on the rears, and a 5% brow on the windshield.

you can see how much lighter the fronts are, but it still works, better than nothing at all if you ask me. at night it all looks the same, unless in direct sin you can hardly tell.

eah I really want 20% but I don't think my mom is going to allow me to go illegal sucks to only be 16 and try and pimp your ride lol

i got my windows done 15% when i was 17 i didnt ask i just went out and got it done lol my mom doesn't care my dad didn't like it to much but he didn't get mad about it

i havent heard much about anyone getting tickets around here, my friend has like 3% and never gotten a ticket

Whats up neighbor..?!? Lol. I got my back 3 (2 door) dark and a light tint on driver/pass windows... Only ticket ive ever gotten was by a F'n state cop!! I hate those cawksuukers..... The been really here on the northside of springfield... New dui hot spot.
I also bowl in decatur and have never been messed with, even when i had my 22's on yrs ago... Lol

Laws are laws but it really depends on the cop.... Op theres a guy in town that does tinting on the side.. Any where from 50-90. Uses llumar tint also. Doesnt have all the diff % tho..

I live in the South Subs of Chicago,IL. I had my windows tinted 35% (Legal) all the way around (Black GP). It's not extremely dark but in my opinion is perfect. I'm not a fan of the super dark tints anyways. They used Madico film. It was kind of expensive but it's a very reputable company that has been there for over 30 years. It came with a lifetime warranty. So if any bubbles, dis-coloring, peeling, etc occurs I just have to bring it in and they will fix it no questions asked.

yes, paying 200 some dollars for 35% tint isnt worth it, so u mine as well stay stock cause theres not much difference between 35 and stock

35% is plenty dark enough for those of us that no longer want to drive around on the inside of a cave.

plus, tint is always a matter of the quality of tint that you get as well. if you're not getting llumar tint (it's a brand of tint) then it's gonna be a crappy tint job anyway. cheap tint is lighter and fades because it's thin junk.

for a point of reference, my grand prix was tinted at 15% and it was nice. couldn't see **** at night, but during the day it was prime. i am older and wiser now, so the next tint job i get will be the legal 35% and i'll like it just fine. not everyone wants to drive around in a super tinted car. besides it being illegal, which may not matter in some areas, it is a safety concern at certain points of the day. it also doesn't let people see into the car. if you can't see into the car to see there is nothing to steal then you're gonna have to break the window to get into the car to find that out. ask me how i know how that goes down. i've replaced more windows than i like to count.

If i could have found something in between 20% and 35% I would have gone that route. My main concern is police getting nervous because they cant see in my car.

I agree. I have 35% all around on my car. I don't really care for the super tinted car look. I like to be able to see inside and outside of the vehicle and not look like I'm hiding something.
