window tint 18 VS 28

Hey. I'm going to get my windows tinted on my 2 door '01 GTP. Got the weekend to think about what shade to go with. I told the guys 18% all around, but now im kindda thinkin about going 28% on the driver and passenger window, 18 the rest. Any suggestions on what looks better, what works better? Thanks.
 


having the same % all around looks way better. if you get 18 in the fronts you may have a tougher time making turns at night but nothing a quick lean forward can't fix.
 
do the same all around. it looks much nicer.

also, do the 15% because you'll regret not going darker than 25% or so.
 
70% percent is the law in PA. I have 20% all around and have yet to be hassled once for it. I guess it all depends on the cops where you live.

IA is 70% I have 35% in front and 20% in the back.

Thanks guys! Much appreciated. I think I am going with a darker tint all-round. Don't do much night driving. The Police in Calgary don't seem to be concerned with window tinting unless your driving like a douche. So, i'm gonna try my luck and go with a dark tint, something under 25-20. Thanks again for the input guys. Cheers!
 
legal in WI is 35% all around and i ran 15% all around. it looked great. if i would have did 20% i would have disappointed.
 


Except for when an undercover state trooper gets next to you on the interstate and pulls you over and gives you an $80 ticket. Happened to me last week. I told him I bought my car this way last summer, which is true. He checked my windows and they were around 22. I was pretty pissed. He could have gave me a warning or a fix-it ticket. I ended taking it off the front windows the next day. It was turning blue anyways. I have never had any problems before that. This guy was just a d ick. As soon as I got out of his car he pulled out his radar gun and checked the cars driving by.
 
one time i got flicked for front tint and the state boy just ran a key along the tint to put a nice gash in it so it's fugged. luckily i took it to my local shop n they redid my window for 20 bucks when i told 'em the story.

That's not only a dick move, but I'm pretty sure that's considered vandalism, or destruction of property. I'd have got that **** on tape.
 
The darker the better guys! Our state law is like 50% on the front doors and nothing allowed on the w/s, but ALL of my cars for the past 10 years or so have had 5%. GO DARK MAN you won't regret it! You can't see in my car in pure sunlight when you're right next to the car.

tint is only allowed on the top four inches of front windows in michigan and the gash was on the lower half, i'd compare it to a cop pouring out booze or smearing a joint on the ground. no ticket, just a loss of the [illegal] product.

he said 'pulled ya over for yer tint' went n ran my license, came up clear, comes back hands me all my information and says 'stay in your vehicle i'm going to open your door'. opened it then says 'well say goodbye to your illegal tint'. probably figured since i can't get the kid for anything else i'll at least ruin his day.

Definitely go dark as dark as possible. And like you said as long as ur not screwing around usually they leave u alone. I got 10 on the backs and 35 on the two doors.(ND its 50 on the side) I haven't got stopped yet in the car. But in my truck I had 10 all the way around, got stopped 4 times and on the fourth time it was the same cop as the third time, he was not happy. So when he took my license to run it I grabbed a knife and ripped all the drivers window tint off... he got back with the ticket and I said I dont window tint, see. And I rolled the window up. He still gave me a ticket and didn't see the humor in it.

Bad go the same percentage all around. I dont know about you but I cannot stand cars that have 2 different percentage types on their car. If your gonna do it make it the same all around.

I think 4drs can pull off 2 different percents. If I were to do it again I would get 15% all around.
