Window switch LED

Most of my window / door lock switches are burnt out, so I wanna swap them with LED. Anyone got a wiring diagram? Or pics of how you stuffed the resistors in there?
 


Got the door lock switch figured out. Power is on the left.

Coupe driver window switch. You have to unsolder 3 posts to get the board separated from the actual switch.

Top is power.

97-03? that conversion was a pain in the ass..

the headlight selector switch was worse..

taking it out causes the "key in ignition" noise to go off Constant

Yup, doing it in my 2000. It's not that bad once you figure out which side is what. I couldn't find any good pics or info so I figured I'd post what I found out.

Haven't done the headlight one yet, working on the doors first
 
Meh, I just went to the junkyard and pocketed all the switches I could find and now I have good switches. :)
 


Thanks for posting magnus. I noticed the other day that my passenger front door lock switch was not illuminating. I removed it when I got home today and will be off to the electronics store tomorrow. If I can do the right door without hurting myself, I will tackle the left door. :th_laugh-lol2:
 


There are plastic tabs holding the switch assembly to the plastic piece. Just pull them away from the switch

Look on the underside of the piece the button slides out through the bottom
 
magnus, what are the specs on the LED's you used?

I just got some that are:
- red super bright LED
- 2,000 mcd output
- 1.8V @ 20mA
- 15° Viewing angle

I used 1W, 680ohm resistor (couldn't find any 1/2W 680ohm), and they aren't as bright as I was hoping for.

It might be the angle, the stock bulbs point straight up, the led you have to kind of angle to the switch a bit, especially if your viewing angle is kinda narrow.
 
Ya, I am suspecting the angle also. I am going to finish the right switches and do a night comparison to the left side (stock).

Cool. I've got one of mine that's dimmer than the rest, I'm pretty sure it's all in how aim to light up that little bit of clear plastic.
