Window Stuck!!! Help please!

My driver side front window won't go up. All the other windows are working. Could it just be that one window switch or is it the window regulator? I have no idea what to do to get the window back up. Just looking for some insight on some things I can possibly try myself before taking it to a mechanic. Any ideas???

good chance the window motor died, in that case you would need a new window regulator.

you can run power to the motor and see if it works, if it does, the switch is bad.

since all the plugs are the same, just swap the plug for the drivers window to any of the others, if it works, it's the switch!

master switch is different animal, at least on a 4 door. theres no way of swapping the switches on 4 door, you may have a 2 door.

Phew! Something I can do myself then I take it? Yes I have a 4 door. Hopefully the other windows don't start having issues too.

Before you go crazy and waste $ throwing parts at the problem... Check my posts for a link about cleaning the window switches... The get funky over time and a simple hour or two can clear up the issue easily. Happened to me last year coldest day of year to boot. Window down for drive through coffee and whoola, window stuck open. Drove home, pulled door panel, got switches of, opened and cleaned and back together and all was good.

Anyways, good luck!

sure is, but not with the window motor.

take the inside door skin off, get some wood, and jam it under the window in the up poison. make sure its snug and wont pop out from under the glass. if it pops off the window it could break. make sure its tight under the window.

you will need to cut it to the right size.

i had my pass side window in my truck like this for 2 weeks waiting for a new regulator.

I got it to roll up! It's the switch, the little clear plastic piece is broken. I want to just replace that whole switch unit. Mine is pretty worn anyway.

Oh that sux... A little expensive if you can't find one from a junker...
But at least it was just the switch (on the brite side)

i got one for my regal, cost 40 ish shipped, came with a good clean trim bezel.

i also saw just the switches new for around 20 to 30.
