Will this knock detector work on our engines?



I'm not arguing with you, just trying to understand how? I see the point of splicing and the possibility of the signal back feeding from one knock sensor to the next. Is there any way to isolate that? There shouldn't be any problem with the knock gauge feeding info to the PCM as that's not it's design. With the knock sensors, I'm assuming they read the same sound and are interchangeable. If that's so, does it really matter which bank the knocks coming from, the PCM sees knock and acts accordingly.

get the torque app. its less then 20 bucks if you have a droid phone.

Scotty he already bought it.. At this point we just have to hope he doesn't try and put it in and fck something up.
 
Yeah I already bought it. I just want it as an indicator that there's knock so I can get off the throttle and then hook up to hpt and investigate.
 


Just don't. seriously, if you have several knowledgable people on one thread telling you to not use it.. Don't use it.

buy a aeroforce or something that tell you some thing you can trust. what is this the fast and furious? we need dumb lights that tell you nothing.
 


to isolate, you may be able to use diodes.

The problem would be trying to find the correct diode. one that's too weak isn't going to isolate anything...and one that's too strong will block signal. Splicing the knock sensors together is out because it'll piss off the PCM...I thought we replied in time before he decided to purchase this crapbox...but apparently we missed it.
