oaky this is my set up that i will be doing this summer and i need to know if my tranny has a chance to survive any track runs. cia,tb, headers,vs cam,2500 stall, shift kit,3.3 pulley, pcm. i was doing a little digging and a stock tranny is good for mid 13 runs,(or am i wrong) i think after these mods i will be in that range. can anyone give me advice on what else i can do to support these mods and also what i shouldnt do thanks you guys are always a great help.

im running a 3.3 with about the same mods as you with a bit more and my tranny is toast lol im not a kid and dont drive like a tool but from what ive read online once you get into doing more then zzp's stage 2 mods the tranny tends to fail.. but hell the cars are getting old and a used tranny is only around 350 bucks :)

whats the point of modding if you're not going to take advantage of the gains? If you're going to run it hard, build it so it can stand up. ( beef up the trans ) If you don't... dont be suprised when you blow the trans.

Ok stupid question but when you say "beef up the trans" do you meen get a shift kit? I kno little to nothing about the internals on a trans :(

your logic is kind of off.

the problem is, that even if the trans is 'built', if you drive like a doucher you'll still break it.

Of course. You can break the best built car by driving like a douche. If you drive like a douche, have a big wallet!
