Will I need Dynamat?

I have 2 12" CVX's and i was told i need put down dynamat or some sound deadening material or they will rattle my spoiler off and break ****. I used to have them in a tahoe before i got the GP and there were loud as F**k but i wasnt too worried about breaking anything in the tahoe. So is dynamat really necessary?
 


Nope. You can pound as hard as you want to as long as you dont mind rattles.

Stick a piece of cardboard/foam/sound deadener behind the license plate, and Put some foam under the spoiler. (You can remove the spoiler via popping the trunk, and removing the 10mm bolts. Takes about 2minutes)

That should kill those rattles.
 
don't need it if you dont mind the rattling but it helps a lot. I did my doors, rear panels, and trunk so far. I don't have my system in yet and it won't go in until the car has an alarm. I've noticed a difference in how loud it is inside the car which is surpsing because I used a vibration dampener and not an actual sound deadener.

What did you use?
 
Second Skin Damplifier Pro. It's about half the price of Dynamat Extreme and the material specifcations are pretty close. The difference between SS and Dynamat are little to none from what i've read so I didn't see any reason to pay twice as much for basically the same stuff.

They're actually the same :)

Speakers = vibrations. Vibrations = noise. Stop those vibrations and you stop the music(noise)

I will say that you can use MLV for another purpose too but I don't feel like talking about that. You're indirectly pulling attention to it with your links
