Will a digital heater control work in a car without the digital?

I was scaveneging the junkyard yesterday and I saw a grand prix it was a 98 just like mine and had the digital heater controls, and the digital info ceter as well, are those things plug and play? will they work in a car that did not have the digital? if they wont what do you need for them to work? thanks! is there a write up about this? I tryed searching but it brought up nothing?? thanks!
 


i asked the same question like 4 months ago cause i wanted to do the same thing and got a few responses that all said you cant. unless you do a lot of custom wiring.
 


I just did the dic and there is some wire splicing but its easy and works great! I also added a hud to my car which was a little more challenging yet worth every curse word i said in the process!
 
I don't know how the wiring is for the non- auto climate controll, But I have installed some of these parts in an 88 fiero with a/c.

radio - easy
hud a little more difficult - linked to radio
automatic climate controll - much more difficult, not completely finished
- I made it single not dual climate, Fiero activates motors, no vacumme for climate control in the fiero.
 
Even a factory installed digital climate control system malfunctions. Blend door problems and other headaches.

The digital HVAC just looks good, thats about all its worth.
 
My question about the climate contr just got answered , but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind posting what GTP accessories you've installed into non GTPs. I have a 97 GT, and would like to use the digital driver info and HUD.

i have installed a DIC and HUD. make sure you get a DIC from a 97 as it has a TCS button to the right. any other DIC won't work correctly.
 


I have a digital dic for a 97 and a hud isnt that hard to come by if you need help with this I shot you a pm.
