• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Wil this be ok?

Doing the topswap tomorrow hopefully but can't afford the downpipe right now, can I run it for a few weeks without one? I'm getting a decent tune thrown on so the kr shouldn't be too bad right?

i wouldnt get into boost at all with that little baby downpipe. in fact, just take the belt off the blower.

just unplug the BBV and it will restrict the boost to less than 5psi. Keep in mind the engine is still spinning that blower, its just bleeding the boost away, so don't stay in it.

Keep your foot off the throttle. Seriously.

Bio..that's about the third post today where I read you say take the belt off...lol :th_laugh-pointup:

I personally think this is all overcautious.... i ran my 3.4 with stock pcm/manifolds on my l36 bottom end no problems, yea, i had some kr probably, but unless your mashin on it 120+ for extended periods, i wouldnt worry about it till you get headers.

Overcautious? As little as 5* of KR can destroy pistons. If you're gonna do it, do it right.

Funny how you are saying that and have been through almost as many motors as I have.

Either stay OUT of the throttle, unplug the BBV like FoSHO said...or keep the belt off like Nick said...IMO...I'd wait to do the damned swap until you have everything you need. Like the Downpipe. After being through all the crap I've been through I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Im just going to have to unplug the BBV, that should be fine right?
Today is the last day the guy doing the swap will be around for months.

I have had no problems with the stock pcm, it was when i had the dhp in there that it raised the timing and blew my motors.

Yes, unplug the electronic portion and not the vac/boost lines. The boost will sit around 3-4psi but I would not go more than half throttle without a scan or more mods.

I'll be scanning for kr with a tuner.
