Widest rim you can run on a 225/50/18 tire?



yes, a 225mm wide tire is a little over 8" wide. you could run it on a 9" wide rim if you wanted to stretch it a little.
 
I like those. People will run stupid narrow tires on some wide wheels, so a 225 on a 8 in wheel isn't that bad of a stretch.

they're much more likely to induce curb rash to your brand new wheels.

subaru dudes barely run into the 255s...what do i need a tire that big for? it'd be completely useless and just cost me a ton of money. plus it would probably rub like crazy with how low im going.
 
For me its the tire fits the wheel. Wide wheels, wide tires.

I know the Subarus and other AWD cars don't really need very large tires. My roomie had a WRX for a little while and ran 225s.
 
It really isn't but I think 8.5 deserves a bigger tire than a 225. I don't even like a slight stretch.
