Wideband threw egr help

Timing

New member
So im trying to log my egr in my hpt and have it all wired up threw the center brown wire the the wire signal coming from wideband.
Next i inserted a user defined pid with the function ([PID.2811]/0.5)+10

I tried with sensor blank and also set as air fuel ratio :1

Then i realised my egr min iat was set to 284* so i set it to -40

Still saying unsupported.

I also tried the second egr pid 2810 to see if it was different for 04+ with no results.

Anyone have any other ideas?

I think you have to scan the voltage out in order to set a custom pid up? Either way make sure it returns voltage before messing with the custom part.

alright ima just try adding a egr pos pid to the primary table to atleast see if im getting voltage

Ok so im reading the egr pos pid just fine and when i press the throttle is moves with my wideband so something must no be written correctly. As stated the user defined pid is set as

Name:wideband
Abbrev: wb
Sensor: Ive tried blank air fuel ratio and egr pos
Units: (blank) (:1) (afr)
Function:
([PID.2811]/0.5)+10

Hmm so when you scan both of them the 1 works and the other doesnt eh. Must be a syntax error in hpt. I cant help much with hpt I have only made pids in torque and dhp

Yea exactly. Well thanks anyway dark atleast i know now its not the wiring and my egr(err wideband) is actually sending signal to the pcm. Now i just got to figure out a way to fix the pid

You have to insert egr voltage in your table display.
Also throw in Afr hi res

Shoot me an email with it attached I'll see if I can help layer on today

Ok i think i know what you meen. Ive been looking at guides online and none of them mentioned that. I g2g atm but if i cant figure it out ill hit you up later. Thanks

Ok so i got the pid to finally work cus i wasnt reading egr pos V in my table. I also got my gauge display and my graph to read it correctly aswell. But now im having troubles getting it to function in my histogram.

Once you make your faux wideband pid you then need to make a Afr error histo using that pid number plugged into the equation. You have to make that your Afr error. Then put that in your table display as well.

You can then use Afr error% against maf freq hz for your histo

Ok so car is pretty much all set. Its running hell of alot better. Right now at wot im seeing roughly 19-21* of timing 10.5-11.5 afr and blips of 1-2* of knock once in awhile, fuel trims are pretty much average within 5% across the board. One issue though. For some reason when im doing wot runs my Wideband gauge will be locked at 10 where as hpt is reading 10.5-11.5. I synced them at idle and they were pretty much dead on, even when pressing the throttle. So now im unsure if im running rich or not. For sure feels like i gained power from the 12-13 * i was seeing befor. But my narrowband is lock at about 1000-1050 then im locked at 10.50 on hpt with the wideband,so does that seem accurate or is the gauge actually correct?

Also 1 more thing why is it that my histogram reading my wb vs mass air flow freq above 7k in some hz here and there i see blanks once in a while?

U need to figure out your voltage offset. You can verify by turning the scanner on without the engine on. Seeing your actual voltage. Double check that against the voltage from the wideband. Usually its a .05 to .07 voltage drop.

Good call ill try that. thanks
