• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Why people dont like forums

:th_shakinghead2: While reading a relatively recent post where someone asked an honest question, I noticed one response in particular by an experienced member that took more time to be sarcastic than to actually say something useful. If you think someone posted a question that they could have just typed in google, then don't respond, you don't need to.

A good number of us try and give an honest answer to a question be it a stupid one or not and I applaud that.

For example:
"OP: Do you know where I can find a list of 1/4 mile times for GPs?
Response: Time Slips tab at the very top of the page."

See? A stupid question, but short to the point answer. Done.
I have even gone to the length of googling a question for someone who asked in chat and gave them what I found. To me, thats supporting the community not giving someone a hard time just because theyre new.

welcome to the internet.

as much as i like to be helpful or not bash members for their lack of helping themselves sometimes people just catch me on off days and i end up typing something fairly sarcastic or rude.

you need to have thick skin where ever you are tho. this has been the most helpful forum i've been on. sure some of the most helpful members are sometimes sarcastic but you do get an answer 90% of the time.

Hate me for thanking the guy...

But its been said we're becoming like CGP.

I know some of you will take offense to that.

^^^ Nice lol we have lots here. People need to deal with it and not get worked up. Let me speak the truth for a min, Ive given and taken my share, but what suprises me the most is the mods havn't booted me yet.....

Thanks Matt, Nick, Nick

sh!t happens.. wipe your ass and move on..

What if its their first time posting? Noobs are thr worst obviously but if everyone is a jackass towards them do you really expect them to stick around and learn anything? I dont. I like noobs for the simple fact that I can share some of my knowledge with them, i mean isn't that why we're even here, to learn more about our cars? Rant off.

This is one of the unfortunate things about the internet. People used to learn proper social skills the hard way when they talked like that to the wrong person. Now, you can be a dick to the whole world from the safety of your computer. You just need to ignore the internet gangsters and listen to the people who are trying to help.

i was just being a wise ass, i understand what you are saying and i do agree, however i do feel as though this forum has gotten better. it could be that im not the biggest noob on the block anymore, so i may be seeing it from a different perspective. but for the most part the only people ive seen shunned out are the trolls. noobs come on here and sure there is some bashing but there is also the people chimming in with the sincere help that they are looking for.

You know actually the wise ass attitude made me feel at home here. Its how I am in real life. Hell its how Bio gave me my avatar lol made me feel like part of the forum haha
