Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Why is there still KR?

I am helping a friend tune his car and we finally got to the point were his trims are looking pretty good. So we though would check out his WOT. He has some KR which we didn't think was too bad and could be tuned out. But then we looked at his O2's. With them being that high can we really give the car more fuel to get rid of the kr? He is planning on getting a W/B.

His main mods are 3.1" pulley, P&P m90 & N*, TOG headers, ZZP S2 IC, 1.9rr, 42.5 inj, I think that is all?

BTW his fueling is all stock other than the maf table which has the LQ4 maf table uploaded to it. How can he be getting KR with his O2's being that high, I thought this was a relatively safe setup?

I say let the tune learn for a week then go back and see. Plus in this one it was all about the car hitting 3rd gear, no KR in second.

I personally would pull a few degree's of timing and try to get the fueling back to a more reasonable level. My car reacted better to a leaner a/f than to advanced timing.

It looks a little too rich with a big IC. Too much fuel can also cause KR.

I'd first check TM setting for third, it's common for it to kick in when you are in third-fourth, but that there can still be tuned out fairly easy if you know where to look.

Just my opinion though.

if all of the fueling is stock then that injector table needs to be fixed for the addition of the larger injectors...if you didnt already.

also may have to do a tps re-learn on that northstar if you didnt already...i see it was reading 99.60 % at what i am assuming is suppose to be wot?...may want to test it out while scanning with the key in the run position and look at idle tps% and wot tps%

one persons was reading 50% tps at wot with his aftermarket tb setup....did the relaern and it fixed it...

or it may have something to do with scan depot because i am lacking the fimiliatary with that program

also raise those shift points to around 5900 (compleated shift) as the sweet spot in the power band will most likely be in that area with the 1.9's...the sweet spot being after the shift is compleat and the rpm's drop back down

I didn't even catch that....
definitely need to skew back the injectors if that hasn't been done.

and...lol...fwiw im running 910-920's for o2's and i have basicly the same setup.still not done tuning though

Thanks brian! lol

I have some limited knowledge of the car in question.

He means after adjusting for injectors and the maf for the LQ4 (If thats the right model #).

So is reptile's name Brian too? Cause that's me! :th_beer-toast2:

The injectors have the 42.5 table uploaded. The car will get a couple days to learn becuase I work this weekend and won't beable to tune.

What do you mean? what u said didnt make sense to me...and yes reptiles name is brian lol

I just kind of skimmed through the TM files and didn't really find a table that jumped out that would help shift kr. What table are you talking about Brian?

Kind of an off topic question but have any of you ever messed with the "max engine torque for upshift" table? I hope it is labeled similar in the HPT files.

hehe someone wants to pop a transmission :D

The table for 42lb injectors and the maf table for the new throttle body is in the tune on the car, it is not running uber rich from a stock tune on new bigger injectors like you were thinking.

Well not being fimiliar with dhp that sounds like the table that you need to modify to get rid of any torque management...witch causes the kr during shifts so maybe not as off topic as you thought.

maybe this will help you...If i remember correctly in hpt the tables for tm are...maximum torque> rpm vs. gear, vs gear, vs. rpm and spark retard > vs. torque reduction ( this table is the table you will zero out...what this does is disable any spark related tm all the other tables that i mentioned you will want to increase the value to...thus increasing the amount of torque Before the pcm retards any spark

go ahead and post all the tm tables you have available and i will try to figure it out...but that sounds like it..

can u take screen shots? if so post a cupple of those up

the tm tables excluding should be triple digit numbers that increase with rpm or in some cases gear. stock shold be around 258-384 and for the spark related timing it should only be double digit numbers ranging from 0-50

you should have 4 tables for tm and then another 3 tables for tm under the tcs tab...yes? or no?

got ya

haha apparently pt and hpt are nothing alike in how the tables are names and located. I have torque management under fuel, spark, and transmission. TDC how does HPT work, can you tune any 3.8 car now? Or do you have to buy credits for every car you want to tune?

Here is a screen shot of all the files.

yea I have some bin files that don't have it either. I notice there is quite a bit of files different from year to year also.
