Why does my car hate me?

Huh? Why? I've done nothing but love it the day I bought it...

Got her a transmission that works properly, had EGR issues fixed, the coolant leak into my UIM fixed, new tires, breaks/calipers/rotors all around, new master cylinder, wheel bearings L/R front....and most recently (today) a new Cat (the UIM leak toasted it w/ the constant misfires ) and also fixed another coolant leak (those two infamous pipes) around the lower. I've done all this over the course of less than a year, the car has never gone more than 2 months without the engine light coming on for some reason or another...But today, I dunno....After picking it up from the shop only to have it half the day before the f'n light comes back on just kills me. I haven't even owned it a full year and I know any sane or normal person would have gone back to the dealer and traded it for something else. But my car holds sentimental value (it was bought for me by my ex) and it's also a car I've wanted for a while and had been searching for. I've no clue what the new code is after getting the new cat today....If it turns out to be an o2 sensor I'm gonna be pissed...Too late to find out now, we'll see tomorrow. I keep joking that by the time I'm done my car will have been unwillingly rebuilt, I'm beginning to think that might come true at this rate. Oh, and I wont get into the ABS/Trac Control issues that worsened after the new tranny was installed. Which in itself I'm beginning to think might be the cause to my ABS/Trac issues. My mechanic noticed a couple tranny bolts missing and under certain conditions (going up a curved road ) while accelerating the front end seems to stumble a little, something I assumed was alignment related. Now I'm beginning to think it was a sloppy tranny install....if that's possible....The ***** is, the car has low miles 104k now (88k) when I bought it, it's super clean and in almost mint condition. It runs and drives perfectly when it's behaving. And it's a Anniversary Edition GT with matching trim, not like all the other dime a dozen GP's around town. I dunno...I'm running out of money and patience...I just needed to vent a little too feel better about being a super stubborn chick...

sounds like my old GT, atleast once a month id be either throwin a code, leaking a piss load of coolant, or something would just take a dump on me. thankfully i finally got rid of it, and due the the experience i had with it i will never own another GP again.

^ that was my case.bought my 01 GT(first car) with 98k only to find the previous owner cared less about maintenence. So over the course of 2 years i dumped close to 4k in repairs into it.I still need roughly 1k of repairs but it runs alot better then it did 2 years ago....otherwise id be top swapped by now lol oh well.Id say fix up whatevers left.your car still is young and like you said your car will be basically rebuilt and perhaps last longer.

I'm not "too" far from you. And sometimes am on the Cape with my girlfriend and her family (the future inlaws live in Centerville). Maybe one of these times that I'm out there I could give it a look over for you and get you a true indepth understanding of what's going on and what might be a mechanic that loves your visits .

Lol...you guy's are funny. I WISH it were a matter of a mechanic that just wanted to see me. No, no, my car actually had these issues...And the mechanic I use is one I've had for years, he's an old family friend that really knows his ****. He shows and explains whats going on, and I mean really in-depth " this is what it is doing and why it's doing it " He's actually taught me alot. Anyway, I love my GP and therefore will continue to fix any issues that arise. The new code was o2 sensor, but being the rear one it had a 50% chance of ****ting out after the new cat install anyway. We were just figuring I was owed a break by the karma gods...Hell, I'm even anticipating the "T" (I refuse to say it) rebuild in the next 70K miles...give or take...

Basically, my last car was a GP too. I knew what I was potentially getting into. This one is a LOT more cranky and problematic than my other GP, But it's more " me " than the other. And a bit, okay alot, more faster and fun to drive :D
