• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Why do MODS act like such wimps?

This is pretty simple yeah I dont like some of the sh1t Flake pulls and Im sure others can say the same about some of my posts but really who the hell keeps locking the damn threads!!!

To be completly honest sure some may not like the guy, I am not one, I've always just argued the cost over vs a turbo kit. And that his math sucks for the over all cost.............

If its SC vs other SC then sure its far better hands down.

MY POINT HERE IS THIS IF YOU JUST WANT TO VIEW HIS THREADS TO SHUT IT DOWN STAY OUT!!!

Since when can people not post opinions about something? If you dont like what someone says move past it myself included, trust me I dont sit at home and bawl because someone doesn't agree with me!

Sincerely the Entire GPF Community
Thanks Vet!!

I've never closed a thread, I've only soft deleted or editted a post based on these rules-

Rule 1...Pictures and video's....If it cant be shown on daytime TV, its not allowed here.

Rule 2...Language....If it cant be said on daytime TV, don't say it here (being creative is fine, but don't spell it out...examples of being creative...A$$, don't be a Richard, etc)

Rule 3...Bashing....Friendly debate is fine, and fun ribbing is fine, but crossing the line into making comments that their sole purpose is to hurt or degrade a person is not acceptable.

Vendor complaints should try to be resolved with the Vendor first before going public with a complaint. Once the complaint is public and on the forum, the Vendor should be allowed to tell their side of the story before the band wagon jumping.

Banning...Violations are not counted per word or post, but per warning and are kept for 12 months.

1st violation will be a PM Warning from a Staff Member and noted in your private profile (only seen by admins and moderators).
2nd violation will be a PM Warning from a Staff Member and noted in your private profile.
3rd violation will be a ban from the site for 1 week and noted in your private profile.
4th violation will be a ban from the site for 1 month and noted in your private profile.
5th violation will be a permanent ban from the site and noted in your private profile.

Here is what this site is founded on:
Ok, as you all know our main goal is to make this place nicer than club gp. We are going to get some turds on here. Club gp just bought out the turd in some people because they knew they could get away with it. Dont' want to just bann them on the spot for mistakes.

The infraction system built in to this site. I am not very familiar with it. I know from the user profiles you should see a tab with >> This is next to friends tab. Click on that and then click infractions. Then Give infraction.

That bottom box is what is pm to the user. We will work on some templates for this to aid.

Now things to moderate. We still discussing whats reasonable to give an infraction on.

It should post them in this forum when done so others can see and someone does not get warred for the same mistake

Umm I'd love to see where any of this was violated in Flakes threads besides the Shadow dude that cussed everyother word that guy annoys me more than Flake LOL !!!

Honestly I can live with Flake Ive said my points a million times the very least I can do is admit it benifits the community and this platform!!!

With that being said we have sections where you can do whatever you want already in the site, take that crap there or go to clubgp. Other than that when threads become 12 pages with nothing but bashing there tends to be someone that feels it is no longer contributing to go on.

And this is something we need to work on, there should be clear explanations why the thread was closed everytime, not just because one felt the need.

I understand how frustrating it can be when you are debating something heavily and it gets cut short, with no apparent reason given.

As others said if it becomes 12 pages of bashing take it up with the person throwing stones not close the thread geezus I thought we were all adults here then again.............

Bottom line and I cant even believe I am trying to do this for the guy but really it does benifit the community and at least I think I'm smart enough to realize this!

I feel like my thread benefits everyone looking to make more power with a supercharger. The thread got way out of control (no moderation) and was subsequently locked. Now the beneficial information will be lost. IMO moderators should moderate. Send out warnings and infractions, delete trouble making posts and keep threads with technical discussion clean... Just locking them doesn't do anyone any good.

Besides your cost BS and Ive always been a turbo HP per dollar guy. Which is exactly why I traded my Gen5 for a S256 I cant believe Im doing this but trying to help ya out ^^^^^^^

Agree 110% the valuable infor will be lost so I say again KEEP THE DAMN threads unlocked!!

LOL once upon a time Bio and Bluegtp got into a pissing match with me and they didn't like me either HAHA seriously I agree 110% info will be lost that will help the community.

Take care of the people bashing out of control and do what a MOD is supposed to do not just click close thread!

This. If more warnings and infractions were sent out when something like this happens, it would happen less.

Vet.. I <3 you with totally homo :th_laugh-lol3:

Seriously though, sometimes by the time a mod sees the thread it's so out of control it is helpful to shut it down to clean it up and let everyone cool down. I've locked a couple of the threads in the past. These threads have gotten out of hand. When there's two or three going at one time with the same BS in all, there's no need. Like double or triple posting the same problem with a car.

I agree with you guys, more infractions etc should be done and I'll aim to make that change in how I moderate. Prepare for it and don't get butt hurt when it hits your inbox.

Moderators are here to help guide the community, not babysit. Most of these threads need 20 or so nannies in them to keep them on track.
