Why did my car try and start itself?

Oh Kay... seriously? Keys are on the counter... I swear... I've been home for an hour, from seeing the tranny doc...

Yesterday I did alot of things. Put sways in... the rear was fantastaic, the front was a b!%#, ( There's gotta be a trick to this... ).. And I didn't "Fix" my starter... but I fixed it.. The car was wired to start stock, It kept toasting starters. Which was becuase the car was trying to start itself... Quick fix, the car was started by hand... So yesterday I put a witch in ( thank god... ) Wired it to turn the ignition signal off in case it wanted to act up. Which is did just now... Instead of having to raise the hood and do a battery pull I just cut the signal wire all better Thanks switch.

The key is in the locked posistion how in h3.. can it start itself? Is there by chance a factory remote start system? I know theres keyless entry and it's on the car, Don't have a remote don't need it rarely if ever lock it anyways..

To go with this... I did a batter pull yesterday, while I put the warrentied starter in. Next few times I get in the car it's perfectly normal, and my radio LCD backlight is working kick a$$!!!!!!.... Then I head to get some tires this morning.. long story.. hey it's Monday right?...:th_laugh-pointup: Radio Disp backlight is off and car doesn't want to stay running when you start it crap.) Run for 2 seconds dies... ( Might be FP relay will bypass to figure that one out.)

Ohkay Can we get rid of the electronics? I miss carb's and points.

Any ideas, My thoughts, Factory remote start? , BCM?, ignition switch ( even though it's in locked posistion )...

UNLESS you have a VERY special model GP, 2005+ gets the 5 button Remote Start Key Fobs, you would have to have a "AP3" RPO code in order to get a remote start feature in your car.

Could be a aftermarket installed security system with remote start. See these fail all the time and cars get towed into the dealership to get the "bugs" worked out. We start with removing the wiring and module to rule it out. Are there any wires going to the relay/fuse panels that seem out of place? or a control module that doesn't seem like it should be wherever its at??
