who hates ford

Eh, I'm learning to like Ford. I have no reason to hate an American car company. Now imports... those I hate...

I agree, but what defines an Import? The parent company, or the content of the vehicle? An old question I know, but I don't believe anyone makes a car anymore with 100% domestically produced parts. Don't even know if they could. And then you have domestically poduced imports. I think this whole "World Economy" stuff is a bunch of sh*t.

Oh, and I'll buy a Ford any day over any import.

That's an excellent point. Most cars are built stateside in non-union states.

How about this... I hate Toyota because as time goes on, they take more and more power away from the driver. My uncle has a Forerunner, and you CANNOT turn off the traction control. Seems like they are catering to the lowest common denominator (biggest moron that probably should be taking the bus).

I love ford I have a 99 f150 and at the time I was buying a car. It was between my GTP and a Mustang same year and same price the mustang had 30k more miles. Stupid me being young and naive I bought the GTP not knowing how much I wish I had a rear wheel drive v8. If anything happens to the grand prix I will be in the market for a ford.

ive never cared for the comfort of a a mustang I had a 99 v6 actually wasnt horrid had full exhaust and cai and a few minor things but it sucked getting into when my back went out
its still running though over 200k on it my ex still has it

^^^^ As I get older that is one benefit of the Freestyle I love. No crawling into or out of the car. Just turn and you are level enough to put your feet down and stand up.

I always catch the heel of my boot on the ground effect on the GP. Broken that clip I dont know how many times.

Ford Gets $5.9 Billion Government Loan - Auto - FOXNews.com

heres the info on fords loan stuff its just one article not the one i had orig read but has the info
that was only to create fuel sipping cars, not for the government to take them over, the contracts that we're signed by daimler Chrysler and GM was for them to liquidate some of their assets, which counted for thousands of jobs, saab, saturn, and pontiac :( in the end. fords market share rose an is rising faster then any other car company( think about 5.3%) in the past three quarters since the bail out of the other companies.

Ford makes some good cars but I like my GMs, I don't care for how they drive. There are a few Ford's that I wouldn't mine owning though.

but you dont think it helpped ford make it
My guess is it helped alot

That money for the Eco cars was watched very closely. There were standards and goal that were required to be met. If the requirements were not met the $ was required to be paid back by immediately. It was regulated even closer then the $ I gave GM.

explorers of the 90's were horrid for trans issues and headgaskets

I never had any problems with my 94, that thing never gave me issues. Though it was stock I ragged so much on that truck that I'm surprised it didn't break. Still see it driving around 4 years later.

its only an observation as to what i see for sale and what issues that have
thats all

Mt personal view on newer cars is they will all last 200k plus if you take care of them with standard maintnance

my girlfirend just picked up i think a 94 taurus, the odometer doesn't have the hundred thousands place lol

They haven't caught on yet. Much the reason they're still stuck on a solid front axle when the GM trucks have had IFS since 1988. They're not exactly known for innovation.:th_winking:

Could that be because GMs solid axle made the truck turn sharper to the left then to the right, because the front passenger side tire stuck out further?

I prefer my solid axle. Hence the GMs breaking under 2k rpm launches in 4x4. More parts the more chance of break down. Solid axle weighs less and allows the truck to be able to haul more as well, but who uses a truck to haul anything anymore? All that matters is which one is prettier:th_pimp:
