white car paint question

Ok so I pay the tow guy one hundred dollars and he trashes the paint on the fascia! I have two questions

1. how much do you all think it will cost to get the fascia repainted along with the rims cuz there pretty scratched up as well.
-should I trust maaco or local collision shop?

2. how do you all feel about the white air dam? my car came like that and I kind of liked that it was different than most GPs. but I kind of like the black on white. any one with pics of a cool GP with white air dam?
-ill try and get a pic of its current state but for now ill put one of in september when I brought it.

I would ask around and find you a good local shop that can do the work.

My GF had hers repainted back stock cause the dealership where she bought her car from was to have that professionally done because it was chipping/and flaking off when she bought it. Over the next year or so, it faded, and then started peeling and flaking off each time she washed it.

She had it redone the same time they were painting her F1 hood and GenI SLP spoiler and she only was charged $300.00/$350.00. The same guy who did her cars parts...painted my entire car. I cannot see the front fascia running more than $150.00 in all seriousness.

But in the tow truck drivers defense...the beds of most trucks cannot go low enough so our front bumpers and exhaust tips stock or after market will clear the bed or the ground. One of my tips got ruined pretty good after my accident when he was loading it up...they were dragging pavement, but it was already crushed and bent down anyway, so nothing he could do.

depends on the Maaco they are just a body shop with access to a larger buy on paint (they use dupont or sherwin williams) a friend of mine owned one (and I managed it) we were doing insurance repairs on work done by a local shop. To do the job right if no prep is done expect a $300 bill at least (most shops don't want to do it and price it to make it worth their while)

Prep work makes the paint job, and the Macco's around here, and most nation wide, are known for the lack of prep work. They are nice for a "quick sale fresh new paint job", but quality, long term paint job...I would find you another shop in all honesty.

that is production shops in general (my inlaws had their car done at a shop here that is recommended by insurance, and the paint is dry looking, and you see the scratch marks from sanding) my point is there are no real quality paint shops, they are all collision production shops (means get it in and out as fast as possible, and if anything goes wrong hope the owner doesn't notice) Maaco does what you pay for, the problem is most people want cheap (I can't buy the materials to paint my car for under $500 and I get a discount)

Most every shop is recommended by one insurance company or another. Thats why I prefer to take it to an individual who owns his own shop under their name. They almost always do the best quality work.

Macco, regardless chain store, or privatively owned has a bad name to over come regardless who's doing the work. The most important thing is getting the customer in the door for them. After that...selling the service should be easy, but here and there, most everyone avoids Macco like a plague.

I look for Icar certified, if they can't bother with that they aren't worth your time
