Whining sound

Im sure this has been answered already but im going to ask anyway, I have an '05 grand Prix GTP i took over from my wife. I have been driving it to and from work and noticed a whining sound. I know for sure that it is not from the supercharger. I can hear the SC when I step on the gas but I hear this second whining sound when im just cruising along or starting off from a stop. it is not the power steering, I topped off the reservoir. the sound does not change when turning the wheel. Could it be coming from the transmission?

Can you pinpoint which side of the car?

Check the all fluids including the transmission fluid. Many grand prixs (and likely many gm 3800 platform vehicles) tend to have power steering whine even when they are functioning properly and fluid level is fine. See what others say and keep an ear/eye on it.

my power steering pump works great but whines all the time. I would also check tranny fluid too

I've checked all fluids, they are good. I hear the sound mostly on the driver side but that's probably because I'm the driver.
