Which Wheels will work on my 2008 GXP?

I'm going to drive the car this winter and don't want to compromise the chrome wheels, nor do I want the super wide 255 tires on snow.

Can I use 16 or 17" rims on the GXP? There appears to be about 1 1/2 to 2" of clearance between the 18" rims and the brake components.

Any recommendations?
 


I'm told that there are very few 16" wheels that will work, and that some 17's will work. I have a 2001 gtp that I have a set of snow tires for that are 16's, I'm going to try swapping on one of them to see if it will clear, but I don't really expect it to.
 
I just found and reposted an old '04+ GXP brake upgrade tutorial in the brakes thread, and in so doing found this:

Proof that you can use '05 GTP/'06+'07 GT 17" wheels with GXP rotors and calipers. But whether or not those wheels have hub spacers is a question I don't have an answer for.
