Which pulley should I get

I am on the fence with either getting a dynotune for 500 dollars or getting a 3800performance tune for 125.

97 GTP: SD headers, Open cone, and a 180 Tstat should I get a 3.0 or 3.2 quick change pulley?

Question 1. Can I do nothing else and be able to install a 3.0 pulley and get a custom tune or will I need more supporting mods like injectors, roller rockers, etc...?

Question 2. Can I install a 3.2 pulley and get a 3800 performance can tune and be perfectly drivable?

Question 3. Is 3800performance the best can tune out there? I heard ZZP is not a good one. Are there better ones out there?

Thank you,

Tim

x2 3.4 pulley. If you want to go lower your gonna need to cam or IC. For 500 dollars you can buy a tuner. Learning to tune is free.

Can you explain why I need a cam. Or point me to what to search for or a link to an existing document. A 3.2 pulley just makes the blower spin faster. A cam does keep the valves open longer and a 3.2 might have diminishing returns but why not still put one on?

because youll be running too much boost (read: heat) and your car will be predetonating because of it. the KR levels you will see will be high and your car will run much slower and have the possibility of blowing up the bottom end than if you would have just run a better tune on less boost.

here, read this thread:

http://www.grandprixforums.net/safely-modding-your-3800-powered-car-17482.html

that will tell you the path you need to take to SAFELY mod your motor.

:th_doh:

you can run mid/high 13's on a 3.8 pulley granted you had headers, intake, and slicks.

Smaller pulley just gives you more torque at 2500-4000 RPM, and no more top end.

And top end is where you want power.

Also your EGT's would be dangerously high risking the deadly chipped piston.

Lol...think he meant Step 4. Done...

but then again youd be done on that 1-2 WOT runs so...i guess it works...

Just get some awesome-o jet fuel, and run that setup without any pulley, it'd be awesome.

But you need rather extensive mods to run a 3.0 pulley. A 3.2 can still run stock injectors, but you'll be super close to outflowing the injectors.

Just get a 3.4 pulley, and some rockers, and get it tuned. you'll be plenty happy
